    Hi there,

My girlfriend and I have been working on this "mostly from scratch" build for about a year now. It's now starting to look like a pinball game with this third iteration of the playfield. It's playable, 2 missions are fully working and the general flow is starting to be quite enjoyable.

At first we thought creating a pinball was out of reach but after some research and finding about MPF & Cobrapin and various build logs in this forum we figured out we could probably make it happen. On my side I was also building from the knowledge of creating arcade machine replica, a hobby I started a few years ago. My girlfriend was onboard to create all the needed artwork and actually came up with the Ding et Dong theme idea, my first idea was to create a classical music pinball, which I still want to do But the Ding Et Dong theme, a cult movie in Quebec https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0099432/, was making at least the whole content part much easier plus we both know this movie by heart.

Anyway, roughly a year later that's where we are now. You can get a feel of the game in this short preview

We also have some picture of the build process here: https://ibb.co/album/hYZHVb

    Some info about the build:

    - We are using MPF & Cobrapin
    - It's running on a customized lubuntu and customized bios for a quick boot
    - It's mostly from scratch, but the 2 ramps and the orbit are actually coming from Attack from Mars and Monster Bash.
    - We are using a Shapeoko 4 XL CNC
    - We have been prototyping a bit in VPX before starting the actual build
    - The coating is a type of epoxy usually used for countertops
    - We have been 3d printing a few custom parts but the generic stuff is mostly coming from pinballlife.

Don't hesitate to give feedback. We are also happy to answer any questions and give back on the knowledge we've got from this group.

    Cheers,

Please bring this to Pintastic New England in June! We already have a some homebrew games signed up, and we do a good job of showcasing the games and giving the developers opportunities to talk with each other and with people from the pinball factories.

    Thanks!

For the pop leds it's one of these for the inner ring https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B082SD4WYH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title
and one of these for the outer ring https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0774JNSCF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title
Then I 3d printed a custom socket to host them and screw them on a regular pop bumper bracket.
I then animated them using the MPF Showcreator https://docs.missionpinball.org/en/latest/tools/showcreator/index.html

Hey thanks for the invite! This looks like a lot of fun. It's not THAT far away from where we are. We'll think about it!
