Help!

I am having an issue with my Data East Tales from the Crypt.

The lower left flipper feels "soft". The lower right flipper is nice and crispy. Btw, this is also happening with the upper right flipper...

inspecting the lower left flipper the plunger/linkage had cracked, l was broken and "hanging up" the lower flipper.I have cleaned the EOS switches, even the cabinet switches. I even took a look at the little flipper board on the side of the cabinet on the left. I will look for cold solder joints when I get home.

I am happy to elaborate on any details and dig in the game if that would help with finding a solution?

Should I rebuild the flippers? Is it an issue on the boards?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Is the EOS switch closed before you flip? I think once the EOS opens, you get less voltage.

I have double checked the EOS's and scrubbed them clean.

could be a sticky coil sleeve. After rebuilding the flippers on my JP, they were super strong. I didn't realize how much of a difference it could make.

Will replace both tonight. Good one Woody.

The EOS seems to be the issue. A new coil did not help the cause.

Did you replace the actual coil? I didnt mean the coil. The plastic sleeve that slides into the coil. Did you install a new sleeve with the new coil?

Had a Data East LW3. Had really soft, mushy flippers. Purchased a rebuild kit and WOW what a difference! Used the same coils. My vote is rebuild the flippers.
