I make for a customer a EBD Playfield, with a little more realistic Billiard balls.

Here Pictures from before,at work and after.

I love your balls.

Nice work!

The 3D effect is sensational. Incredible.
Now you need to paint the girl in 3D as well.....

I was gonna say nice balls but blackjacker beat me to it. Seriously looks great! And yeah arcane, I always thought that girl on the playfield could use a serious makeover. Or to be replaced altogether by a better- drawn girl.

some of the balls look more egg shaped... 14, 9, 10, 15
I think some of your lines are off with the white.

I agree it's probably hard to made the 2D insert look good in a 3D ball

Uh.....yeah. My aching perfectionism.

If it wasn't for the inserts in the playfield they would look totally normal, but with them being off-center to the stripe.. dang. The other thing is if you look at the originals, they had black keylines/trap lines around each ball, and that's missing here and it's something we just expect with regards to "cartoony art", which this still is IMO, so the whites bleeding together without anything to break it up is messing with my head.

Keeping in mind this thing probably looks totally different in person and that pictures rarely ever tell the whole story...here's an example of how I would've done this (if I actually could use my airbrush to shade instead of just doing flat layers.. )... one of the two methods I think would've tweaked me out less.. either more shading where the balls are close together, or putting those keylines back..

You can tell if you look real close there are different shades of white there, but I suspect that'll be highly subject to lighting both internal and external to the game.
