Future Spa
Bally, 1979Bally Future Spa solenoid problems: just purchased the machine and having trouble with solenoid operation. Replaced the MPU due to battery leak. I also replaced the AS-2518-22 board. The ball doesn't kick out and the drop targets aren't functioning. I need help with the next step. Thanks in advance - new to the game!
Underplayfield and rectifier fuses good? What about the connector to the solenoid driver board (J3) and the connector bringing power to the MPU? Chances are these connectors need to be repined.
Probably a connector issue. Start with reflowing the solder on all the male header pins associate with solenoids.
Battery depends.
From factory they had a rechargable battery on the bottom that likes to leak. You might have any number of battery/memory back options.
If you have a board mounter battery i would remove it.
If these are the only problems, you need to determine if the coil is the problem and/or the transistor or the wire connector. Do you have a multimeter? You will need one to test these.
