Working on a recently acquired Data East WWF Royal Rumble. At first the left hand side of the back box lighting was faint and the right side was dark. Now the right side is lit to perfection and the left side is dark.
What gives? Any suggestions for repair would be greatly appreciated.

A row of GI lights is powered by a pin on the board. When the whole string is out it means the power from the pin is not making it all the way through the string.
What can casue this is a fuse, a short in the wire, the pin not getting the juice to pass to the pin(male connector), the femal side of the connector being bad/burnt out, loose wire.
The easiest thing first is to find which connector is sending power to those strings of light, and wiggle the connector/wires to see if the lights flicker or turn on etc
Usually top right connector on the power board. Cant remember the number, maybe j7? Usually burnt up and could be replaced. Get a wire pusher for those connectors and redo the connector. Usually about 2 bux for the connector and 5 for the tool. Well worth it. Ive had to redo almost all of my data east g.i. connectors. Or just jiggle the wire as thelaw said and verify that is your problem
