Been obsessed with pinball since I saw my first machine (EM) as a child. Hand built several pinball machines from some old kitchen cabinet plywood, coat hangers for flipper actuators and a combination of nails and rubber bands for bumpers. Hotwired a calculator for scoring with tinfoil and wire.
Took every chance to see the insides of pinball machines while they were serviced and talked to the tecnicians to learn how they worked. Was thrilled to buy my first machine and have it in my college dorm room! Pinball likely influenced my career decision to become an electrical engineer.
Met some great people through local pinball events / leagues further enhancing this hobby! Great to see so many people share my enthusiasm.
