I discovered today that a Target Alpha I picked up a long time ago does not have transformer. I have a spare transformer that came out of a Williams Triple Strike. Will this work with the Target Alpha? The TA is my first jump into restoring a Gottlieb.

I doubt it.

Heresy! haha. If you're talking about the transformer, then yes it should work. Both take 110v in and deliver 24 or 25v, and 6v out.

Voltage is a bit lower on Williams then on a Gottlieb (24 V) you can increase by using the high tap on a Williams transformer.
Don't know if it will be enough, but it will work.

Do you have the TA schematic? Could you post picture of the transformer wiring in it to compare? As noted they put out similar voltages so it might be possible, but need to see if the commons, etc are wired the same.

What's the non-24v?

Would be simpler to install a Gottlieb transformer. But that would require acquiring one.

Thanks all for the replies and answer. I will just buy a Gottlieb transformer to avoid problems. I thought I could save a little money on this one.

The Williams transformer will work with no problems
