"I'm not hating on JJP by any means here but I noticed they're using the same latching system that Stern uses for the head.. I thought that system was patented by DE/Sega/Stern?"
I always liked that mechanism too. I believe Joe Balcer, the playfield designer for WOZ also designed that latch mech back at Data East.
