I have had thicker glasses from bgresto, too. In one case, I simply routed the channel itself and that did the trick. I doubt that it is the metal locking mech as it goes over the top of the glass when locked, thickness really doesn't matter in that case. When unlocked the metal locking tabs sits back away from the upper channel.
