maybe its a topper

Quoted from djsolzs:

No way... there is a Willy Wonka pinball?

on the phone with my distrib now.

#1796 3 years ago
Quoted from djsolzs:

Limited Edition at that!

and its only 10K

soon as I find a buyer for my left nut Im buying one.

Quoted from Goronic:

This is my understanding as well. I am surprised they haven't made more while waiting to get GnR or Toy Story cranking. I guess they want to make more Wanka's and Woz's instead?

You guys know we are in a pandemic right??

Manufacturing has shutdown across the board on and off for months... suppliers have not been making parts etc.

I know in my business I have not been able to get some needed products for months... they have not been being made and any inventory is long gone.

Quoted from JodyG:

Stern doesnt have a supply of games for sale. Supposedly every game they build is already "sold" to a distributor. The distributors are the warehouse. .

Thats not a supposedly... they build what has been pre-sold because they are smart.

distribs take the risk on these games and hope they can sell what they put in for.

Stern does everything they can to only make pre-sold goods.

Quoted from konghusker:

I wouldn’t pay over 10 for a potc. If they do eventually release another 500, the huo market drops drastically on potc. It would bring prices back to retail prices at least. If they release a special black pearl edition like a wozybr for 11.5, that would be tempting but still probably out. Just too much money for us average joes on one game.

Yah this.. the people that arent exactly hurting for dough would maybe buy one at 12k or whatever but they dont care about the price anyways.

Anyone else is going to figure.. cool now prices will drop and Ill wait it out.

The only thing driving price up is FOMO and lack of pins for sale.. once more are in the market that goes away.

Quoted from Psw757:

It’s been like forever since there was a game built shown, or even code updated/finished for pirates I have my opinion and it is what it is. And since you asked, yes I think your investors are a bunch of clowns at this point.
And for the record I do love my game!

Good lord.. the guy takes time out of his day to actually give some real world basic honest info and still gets kicked in the nuts.

Most of the speculation (during a pandemic no less which is royally f-ing up manufacturing for tons of companies) on here about how business or manufacturing actually work is so off base its embarrassing.

It is pretty funny that JJP always talks about innovation...

In this case Stern has done like 10 pins with craggy old ass rock bands so now they are innovating by doing one too?

Way to think outside the box.

The only thing more annoying then trolls are the grammer police guys!

Quoted from Yoko2una:

Was there 2lbs of sand poured on the PF? Wonka shoots amazing!

Yah I had a borrowed one for a bit... if its setup correctly it shoots great.

First JJ I would say that about.

#2437 3 years ago
Quoted from romulusx:

DI shoots great!

OK this one i will give you.. I like Lawlor games.

It shoots nice but the rest of it had zero appeal to me. I forget it even exists.

Wonka I thought was tons of fun.

Quoted from CrazyLevi:

GNR were HUGE, it doesn't really matter that they basically have 1.5 good albums over a 35-year career and have been completely irrelevant culturally for decades. If you were a rock fan in the late 80s, you owned Appetite and listened to it constantly. .

I was a rock fan and I didnt own it.. just sounded like recycled 70s Aerosmith to me.

The only reason they stood out like a sore thumb was hair metal and similar cheez was popular.... (although if you look at the Jungle video check out Axl's Poison like mega spray hairdo). lol

I think its a good record but hardly anything new or innovative about it.... people act like they invented rock and roll.

Quoted from LTG:

It is a possibility.
But so much went beyond anybodies control. Start moving from NJ to IL. 3 weeks later the country shuts down. Anybody see that coming ? How do you plan for that ?

Pretty amazing how clueless people are unless they are in business.... doing normal biz has been next to impossible since Feb.

I have customers begging me for product that I cant sell because it doesnt exist.

Manufacturing stalled out for months (hence no TP, hand wipes or whatever else your store was always out of), things I could get and sell like clockwork havent been in the market for months.

If they can get pins out this year at all they have done a great job.

#2537 3 years ago
Quoted from Betelgeuse:

Stoked if true, because I know for a fact that the cancelled Ben Heck game was Evil Dead.

I hope no one does Evil Dead

if it looked even decent Id have to get one and I hate buying NIB

#2711 3 years ago

While you all are waiting maybe try and play some Wonka... not just bang a game on it, actually try and learn whats going on.

That game gets some shit but to me was the most fun Ive had with a pin in a few years once I learned the rules (and yes that includes Sterns and others) .

I owned about 15 "classics" at one point a few years ago so not exactly new to pinball either.

Quoted from zaphX:

That's totally fine - not every game is for every person, and I'll be honest...Wonka makes a rough first impression.
It's very difficult and it takes time to understand the code, understand what all the audio clips mean (so they make sense), etc.
Wonka isn't necessarily my point, here. My point is don't let Pinside make up your mind on a game.

Yup.. one of those games you cant just judge by a few games.

Always funny to me when people put two games on something and then say it sucks forever.

I played Wonka a few times and thought it wasnt that great but I had no clue what to shoot or why.

Then had one in the house where I could learn what to do, and it became one of my favorites.

Quoted from xfassa:

Back in the late 80's, I trashed the debut of Welcome to the Jungle on MTV's smash or trash segment. Obviously, I am not the greatest GNR fan. That said, this game looks killer. JJP has done an amazing job with this machine and that launch video. Great stuff!
btw...I am guessing they are working with George Lynch next to make the Rockin' with Dokken machine. I'm all in on the LE.

yah Im with you there... I dont dislike them but I always just felt they were ripping off 70s Aerosmith (which they were ask Slash what his favorite record was)

Plus when they came out they were trying to ride the hair metal wave a bit.. check out Axls hair in the jungle video, looks like a chick from a Poison video.

machine looks badass though so Ill at least check it out.
