Mono Targets: A Poll
I think it looks dumb fo sho, but I understand their thinking. I guess blame them for not making the targets actually work independently of each other.
Quoted from chad:Was Last Action Hero the first to have one?
Does it have one?

Behind the drops. Long hazard bar with a micro switch on either end.
Quoted from transprtr4u:One sided poll , if your looking for a negative outcome mission accomplished
How could anything positive come from a monotarget?
Please add to your poll “have no idea what the f mono-targets are, but as always looking forward to being enlightened by the Pinside community”

That's my vote too!

It's taking away multiple stand up targets next to each other, and replacing them with 1 long target, with multiple switches behind it.
If you are familiar with Metallica, the fuel targets on the left were replaced by a mono target on later editions I believe.

.....its the cheapest way to go?

Yep. That's definately not a positive.
If you picture a pinball playfield like pie slices with the crust at the beginning of the shot - i.e. the target (ramp, etc.), and the pointy end between the flippers, I think the “entrance” to these “monotargets” are not larger than a ramp or other “target”. So maybe these monotargets make sense - in terms of size of target.
I will say, though, that hitting side targets and seeing each target light as you hit it, is a lot of fun. It’s even more fun with drop targets. Ok, I changed my mind, monotargets stink.
