Just wanted to see if anyone had any advice on how one goes about starting up a state championship where one does not exist? I know that IFPA is taking a break right now however I'd like to try to figure out how to get a state championship tournament started where I live in South Dakota. We have great place to play pinball with an ever evolving pinball line up of around 16 machines in great working order and I just wanted to find out where does someone start to get the ball rolling on something like this.

I want to see the pinball community do well for the sport that I love and I think getting something like this going would help create a local buzz about pinball.

The Pinball Room is a great place to visit if you happen to be near Sioux Falls, SD. https://pinside.com/pinball/map/where-to-play/14758-the-pinball-room-sioux-falls-sd

Have great day! Thanks! Guns and Roses lives up the hype by the way

Thank you very much for your input Bob Matthews. We are definitely going to brainstorm and see what we can come up with. I'd love to see it happen in the future for sure.

We've been doing local tourneys here and leagues have kind of died off for now but just want to give people something to look forward to. We had a few head up to a North Dakota tourney to play ranked players to get ranked but it didn't amount to much for rankings at all. Seems like in order to get ranked we have to travel to bigger cities to get any ranking value in the IFPA system. Mind you of course I'm talking about normal years lol. Right now we have been doing selfie leagues for now.

Not sure how one become a state representative for IFPA but I'd imagine we'll need one of those too as currently I believe there isn't one.
