Thank you, Peak-Pin. I opened it up when I got home, and it is -- as you mentioned -- tapped into a different power source.

I think this applies to any Sega or Stern that uses a fluorescent bulb, so anything pre-Spike System.
Now, if you are using a board with LED strips, it's probably tapped into a different power source and is already protected by a fuse.
