Forgive me for the noob take here.

Just getting my first projects of Flash and Firepower and the backglass lock mech isnt working.

Key wont turn all the way when the glass is in.

When the glass is out i see that the left most pincher is too far forward and looks as if it is already locked.

I’m unsure if the arm mechanism is in the correct starting position or if the key needs to be rotated or whatever. Whatever it is it doesnt seem to be moving far enough.

It’s also rubbing pretty hardcore on the top of the box. I took it all out and straightened with a vice but still not perfect.

Thanks for any guidance you can give!

I would start by changing the tabs on the long bar.
I would think the far tab would be shorter than the other close tab.
Lock cam in first photo is correct position. the camlock with the key inserted is turned clockwise to
    release the back glass.

Sometimes the tabs are a bit low and hit the glass, Try lifting the top of the backbox while locking and see if the tabs will go over the glass.

    Lock is out of adjustment:
Remove arm loosen 7/8 nut a few turns until tooth washer can be backed out to adjust.

Turn the key to lock remove key.
Rotate the lock cylinder while loosened just until the bar's second tab is over where the top of glass would be.
Mark the location of the cylinder.
Re tighten 7/8 cylinder nut and re install linkage.
Check and re adjust as needed until the cylinder unlocks and clears the track and that in locked position key can be removed
