3D Start Button -- Demolition Man Shop highlight
Presenting Rocket City Pinball's 3D start button for Demolition Man! Demo Man uses a smaller recessed start button; this new button includes a full housing assembly which replaces the existing button and covers up the counterbore in the cabinet. The housing itself is dressed up as the ice block lifter, while the button itself is a block of 'ice' with START (in Demo Man font) frozen inside! The START is intentionally not squared with the face of the button -- in other words, slightly rotated sideways and 'back' -- to make it look suspended inside the ice, just like the frozen prisoners in the film. The print finish is also intentionally cloudy to give it a frosty look, making the captive START text partially obscured until lit up by the button's light!
The ice block section is printed with two different filaments, changed repeatedly on multiple layers for full effect. The claw is printed separately and attached to the housing.
It's easy to install -- NO SOLDERING REQUIRED! Installation instructional video:
NOTE: The light/switch housing in my Demo Man start button was a pull-straight-out, not a twist & pull. Also, if the nub holes in the existing switch are too small, simply ream them out with a 1/8" drill bit before installing onto the new green light/switch housing.
