Most incredible pin! Challenging shots! Exciting gameplay!

This is one of the most unique games I've ever played.

The layout is very good and has a relatively good flow. My favorite shot is the center ramp shot. The mechanism that changes the ball's position around the basket is a nice idea but it can be a bit unreliable when the solenoids get weak. The way they used the backbox is nice too.

In terms of rules the game is pretty simple and easily understandable. It is a good thing they actually changed the scoring system for this game to points. It makes this game stand out in a line up.

Regarding artwork the game looks good and rounds the machine off very well.

Overall, this is a good game with nice flow, nice toys and pretty good rules.

I have both the premium and the LE. Obviously the only difference is the cosmetics. Definitely still like JURASSIC PARK, GODZILLA and CACTUS CANYON LE more. Cabinet and gameplay I do love the moving shark fin. The upper playfield is weak. I will say.

This is one of the best recent Stern games.

In terms of layout it is one of my favorite to shoot designs. There is a lot of flow, lots of variety within the shots and every shot feels satisfying to hit. My only complaint is that there are too few dangerous shots, other than that it is a close to perfect layout. The Premium/LE's mini-playfield does nothing for me though. In terms of gameplay I think the Pro is sufficient and actually a bit more fun to play.

Where the Premium/LE quite clearly is superior is the quality of toys. The sculpted Overlord, van and the Overlord's magnet make the game seem more qualitatively valuable than the Pro.

The rules are pretty easily understandable and I think they created a game code which a casual player could play through.

Regarding the artwork they couldn't have done any better. The animations they incorporated within the game are also world class and you can see that a lot of creative effort has gone into the making of the game.

All in all, this is an awesome game with a lot of flow, great toys and beautiful artwork. In my opinion it is a game for players of every skill level.

This is what pinball is all about. Elton John is just such a fun experience. The sound quality is top notch and the light show is amazing. Locking the balls in the piano to start the signature stage multiball while Love Lies Bleeding blasts out of the speakers is very satisfying. The game is quite fast and flows great. I appreciate all the little touches they put into the game too like the Elton John piano player toy being synchronized to the songs or when the lights blink off at the lyrics “deaf, dumb, and blind kid” in Pinball Wizard. As a pianist and lifelong Elton John fan, this theme made this pin a must have. That it also happens to be one of the most fun pinball experiences I have ever had is why I rank this a 10 out of 10. This one is special and a very welcome addition to my collection.

Love the game, While the art on the Premium is good, I prefer the Pro and LE art but overall, the game is amazing. Love the flow of the game, modes are easy to learn and the shots while not easy are easy to understand, just don't always hit them when I want!

I own a LE but it's the same game as the Premium minus a few non gameplay features with speaker lighting and shooter rod and different art package, Armor etc. Game is a family favorite and is easily in my top 5 pins of all time!

Aztec was my number one most wanted game to own. I was fortunate to get my hands on one to restore recently. It came to me in rough shape and I'm still putting the finishing touches on it, but I've put quite a few games on it already.
Aztec is FAST. With a proper setup the ball speeds are almost shocking for an EM. The slingshots and pop bumpers are primarily responsible for this, but the packed layout also contributes. Getting the ball back under control as quickly as possible is a constant battle.
This game was unexpectedly and surprisingly hard, with the outlanes being incredibly punishing. On my machine they seem downright magnetic at times, and I will need to develop my nudging skills and outlane saves to continue to run up the score. The lower playfield is quite full, and the DC slingshots can result in a screaming fast ball that disappears down the outlanes before you even have a chance to flip. The pops are surrounded by bumpers on all sides, inducing erratic behavior and unpredictable returns from the top. The angles and setup of the Z-T-E-C targets often result in dangerous returns, and the center target shot is pure death if the ball has no spin. The game demands dangerous shots from you if you want to progress towards a special or extra ball. Fully lighting A-Z-T-E-C is a rare occasion and satisfying to acheive. Double bonus is a priority objective in gameplay and always feels great to successfully light. Earning a special is even more scarce, demanding repeated shots to the top of the playfield or taking a risk by putting the ball out of control to advance the bonus ladder.
The outstanding features of this game, however, are the two main shots. The left spinner and the right kickback lane. The spinner absolutely rips and is so far the most satisfying spinner shot on any game I’ve played. The kickback lane is a fun and dynamic feature that makes it possible to cash in on progress towards A-Z-T-E-C without feeling like you’ve run out of shots on a particular ball. Both of these shots feel great to hit and are the defining features of this table.
An often heard complaint is that the pop bumpers will repeatedly send the ball back into the kickback multiple times, but I only rarely encountered this behavior. My only real complaint with this game is that the E and C targets are set low enough on the playfield that it is difficult and rare to hit them with direct shots off of the flipper. I usually earn these two by random chance or by taking shots on the fly. Aztec can feel like it’s left to chance if you will survive a particular shot. This game absolutely necessitates 5 ball play in my opinion. I will continue to develop ball and shot control skills to hopefully get better at this table. My game is currently cranked all the way to max conservative adjustments, and wow is it an awesome challenge. I can’t wait to continue to hone my skills on it.
I’ve already written this much and haven’t even talked about the art package yet. Aztec has some of my favorite art I’ve seen on an EM. I understand why it’s polarizing but It just works for me. The warm lighting coupled with the reds, yellows, and blues is a really nice combination. I enjoy the backglass art but mine is in severe need of replacement. The cabinet art is probably my favorite out there period, it just looks fantastic. Great color palette, cool design, and not too flashy or over the top.
Aztec is everything I had hoped it would be and more. It represents a lasting challenge for me to master and looks great while doing it. I always find myself hitting the start button for just one more game, one more shot at nailing the spinner. Thoroughly impressed, I will keep aztec in my collection for many many years to come.

This is the best shooting JJP yet.

The layout is very good with most of the shots' being backhandable. The side ramp shot with the piano attached is very nice just as the center ramp shot. Those are my favorite shots in the game and the flippers are actually flipping pretty well for a JJP. My only complaint about the layout is the return from the center ramp. Maybe it was only the exact machine I played but the ball would constantly return dangerously so that only a live catch could help me out reliably. But other than that it's a pretty impressive and imaginative new layout.

I appreciate that the rules give you the option of playing different songs but I think you should be able to switch the song at the start of a new ball similar to Led Zeppelin.

The theming is very excessively done. I'm rather a fan of a more subtle theming like AC/DC for example. But I guess if you're a super Elton John fan you won't mind it. The same goes for the music as well.

All in all, Elton John is probably the best JJP so far with solid flippers, an innovative layout and nicely varied rules. I'm very glad to see that Steve Ritchie managed to create an outstanding layout for his JJP debut game.

Really enjoyed trying this Jaws premium. Find it to be really fluid, fast and love the open playfield. The light shows is great too.
I can feel the rule set is pretty deep and I'm far from getting all the details for now, but there's definitely a lot going on here.
Animations are nice, love the whole vibe of the game vs. the theme.
Looking forward to add more games under the belt for this one.

After 2 hours in a row without getting bored at all , really liked this pin ( as all the Keith Elwin should i say ) , scored 494 M

0.86 early code but plenty of things to do already , tight interesting shots , really great flow , fast and fun game , amazing gameplay as always ( and i also love the Bally Williams and JJP different gameplay )

Even 2 ball multi ball are intense , i play pinball everyday , Godzilla , Foo fighters , Venom and Elvira are my favorites , Jaws may be the next one even if it is not a beautiful pin like these ones

Already a top 10 Stern , but not a top 5

Dont like the backglass and the artwork , not my favorite theme ( hoping for Matrix , Akira ,Dragon Ball , Dune , John Wick , Mad Max , Harry Potter , Slayer , Deep Purple , Black Sabbath , Motorhead ,, the Boys ) but i dig the old school atmosphere and vidéos

Great job !)

Edit : played another two hours , still loving it , scored 806m , Can t wait to play the premium

I just picked one of these up, and played it for a few hours, and for me, this game is just spot on, and I think it will last a very long time in my collection. I would give it a perfect 10, except for the fact that I'm not 100% yet about all the features, but it's very fun learning all this new stuff, and look forward to playing this game a whole lot more and learning more about it. Some very fun and different and interesting features in this game for sure.

Have had a premium for a few months now and have really been enjoying it. This is a Brian Eddy game that is a spiritual successor to Attack From Mars and Medieval Madness that falls short of both. You can definitely see liniar progress between these 3, but the toys are not as good, the shots are not as smooth, its not as replayable, and the package is not as good as those games... but thats okay as its a different game. The game fills the spirit of the show, and the UV kit adds a cool new dimension of a full second set of art in the game.

As far as gameplay goes, its mode based and the rules largely make sense. Light the TK locks and lock 3 balls for a multiball. Hit each shot 3 times to start a mode, with the first one being spotted by default for noobs. Hit the drops many times and fight the Demigorgen. Randomly hit targets to start demodog mode. They do a good job of making it possible to hit most of the objectives but making it difficult to hit all of them. Mine shipped by default with lanes wide open.

This machine has required more tweeking out of the box than any other I've had with the TK lock, right orbit, and drops all having to be adjusted multiple times to get everything to play right. Overall this is a good game that I'd put in the top half but not the very top of Stern game. Godzilla, Deadpool, and Jurassic Park are all solidly above this if you are reading this years down the line trying to decide on a machine. Its still a great game though and one I'm glad to have brought into my small collection.

This is probably the best integrated theme from Stern. The layout is fun and fast and the code is shaping up to be great. I do think the pro feels a bit bare compared to the pre/le but that’s par for the course with Stern nowadays. When you get flowing on this game in some of the of modes it feels great hitting those fast shots back to back.

I am loving this game. I like the pro but the premium is even better. Yes this game is lacking wow toys but the flow and code (even at 0.86) is fantastic and the code will only get better. The upper playfield is great. I actually don’t view it as a traditional upper playfield as it’s more like an extension of the existing playfield with more shots and modes you lose out on with the pro. For me personally it’s up there with Godzilla and Jurassic Park when comparing Elwin games. Yes that comment assumes the code continues to grow like it has and that the 1.0 code is going to be as good as it looks like it will. The bounty hunts are fantastic and I love how in the bounty hunt multiball you have to hit a shot and then hit the shark and this weakens the shark but the shark starts to gain health again the longer you take to hit the next shot and then the shark. Adds a great element to this mode. So much variety in the modes and still only at 0.86 code.

When I first heard of Elton John being the next JJP offering I thought that it was a missed opportunities as far as theme goes. I knew that he was extremely talented but honestly, didn't cared much about him. Then I watched some gameplay, listened to the 16 songs that are in the game, became a fan and had no choice but to buy it.

When you think about it, this musical genius is eccentric, extravagant and extremely colorful, his music is iconic and timeless. One of his numerous hits is "Pinball Wizard", now tell me this is not a fantastic theme !

JJP knew better and I'm more than happy that they stick with it. Steve Ritchie did an extraordinary job on this, his best design as far as I'm concerned. This game makes you feel that it makes one with you as for everything you do, there is a reaction, almost like a living/breathing creature.

Light show is simply out of this world and will be the new standard by which every new game will be compared too. The 1294 playfield's LEDS are perfectly synchronized with the action and never fail to amaze and make your jaw drop. The music and excellent sound effects will give you goosebumps. Fun factor is thru the roof and the speed and fluidity of the action always keeps you on your toes. You can backhand almost every major shot which makes for a never ending action fest.

Art is wonderful all over and built quality is what we expect from JJP, there is not a single place where this game is not gorgeous to look at. A real work of art.

There is so many goosebumpy pinball moments that it would take too long to describe them all. The "3-2-1" sequence at the beginning of RocketMan multiball is one of the best pinball moment ever. Playfield is boiling orange and the rocket launcher is ready to shoot the ball into orbit, just wow.

Multiballs are extremely well integrated and you really have to earn them. It feels special (as it should) when you are getting one.

The only thing I'm not too fond of is that the pop bumpers don't see much action as they're kind of "trapped". I prefer when pops brings some speed/unpredictability to a game (Godzilla, Godfather, Wonka, Rick and Morty), this is a minor gripe I have but worth mentioning.

All sculptures are hand painted and having Elton playing the piano with his arms and head moving is like watching a mini human being trapped into this world under glass. It's a little creepy (in a good way) but fascinating and never gets old.

I'm a pretty good player and I don't see the day that I'll finish the code. While everything is quite easy to understand, it's very hard to accomplish because the game is fast as hell and there is tons of things to do.

I've been buying pinballs since 1995 and I've never had that much fun. Very highly recommended.

Played this and the premium version. Both are fine.... not bad games, not good games. They're fine. The artwork really turns me off. Getting similar vibes to how I felt when I saw Rush. Just lousy artwork, is how I felt. The pro translight seems lazy to make it the movie poster. Sadly, Franchis translate goes for way too much as a replacement.

The game has interesting shots, but this (for me) is Elwins' worst game.... which isn't hard to do as the man makes awesome pins. I admire his unique shots in this, but they aren't particularly satisfying. I do enjoy the premium more, but not be a ton.
