Rocket City Pinball has designed the custom 3D model for this post, and has refined the specific print parameters to perfect its smoothness and shape.

These Bowling Pin posts were created with bowling-themed games in mind, and are printed with a matte white filament and the characteristic double-red stripes of typical bowling pins -- four filament changes in all. I was sure to include the white between the stripes (despite the two extra filament changes required) because the neck is sometimes visible depending on the rubber ring configuration.

The #1 question I get about my posts is: are 3D-printed posts strong enough? The answer is YES. The rubber absorbs some of the impact from the ball, my posts have 50% infill for additional strength, and the printed layers are in compression from the screw anchoring them to the playfield. My posts have been installed in dozens of games by numerous customers, and no breakage from use has ever been reported.
