This replaces the plastic under the bridge. On the prem/LE the bridge hits this plastic and often cracks it. This replacement is 304 stainless steel. It also allows the captive ball to be seen. It is usually necessary to remove the back half of the bridge to install it, although some have installed it without removing the back of the bridge.
