Item description

I bought this game as a restoration project several years ago after playing it for the first time at a show. Large number of photos of restoration process and final condition can be found here https://www.flickr.com/gp/ertelkpics/6Kh5q2 and here https://flic.kr/s/aHsmgZ491W.

Game was completely disassembled. Cabinet stripped, sanded, filled, sealed painted and redecaled. Warning text rescreened. Replaced playfield with brand new Mirco playfield. Wiring harness removed and cleaned. All mechs completely disassembled, tumbled (or hand cleaned if too large for tumbler), cleaned and polished. Ball guides buffed and regrained. New ramps (including glow in the dark bones), all new plastics with protectors, Titan rubbers, full LED conversion, inner side decals. New targets (with correct colors - a couple are generally not available so I re-riveted the correct faces on new targets). Cliffies installed as preemptive hole wear prevention. New translite. New coin door. New manual and original operator's manual included. Vanity decal for Elvira is also included (not installed), along with various other spare parts (flasher base, extra/different Bogeymen, extra frogs, etc). I also made a custom shooter rod, custom Bogeyman extensions on kickers, and custom LED lights for skull pile eyes. I have the pop bumper boards that are needed to do the complete dancing bogeymen mod detailed elsewhere, but I decided against installing them; I will include them with the game if you'd like to install them yourself. ColorDMD is installed, but I have other games I can use it on so if you don't want/need it I can swap standard DMD and knock $400 off price. I'm probably forgetting something, but basically everything was fully torn down, cleaned or replaced, and reassembled.

I debated about listing this as "fully restored" but given the (very) slightly damaged decal mentioned in item #1 below, I figured some would take exception to that. I try to be as up front about the condition of the games I sell because the last thing anyone wants is to get a game that doesn't meet their expectations. So in the interest of full disclosure, here are a few things I want to mention:

1) The front cabinet decal must not have adhered properly when I put it on, so the lockdown bar caused the very top edge of the decal to start peeling away from the game. I glued and clamped it after noticing it. The area in question is quite small and is completely covered by the lockdown bar so you only see this when you have the bar off, and it's not all that noticeable even then, but I wanted to call it out.

2) The spring steel flap on the ramp that's over the spider hole is very new and thus very stiff. As a result, sometimes the ball does not pop up and wind up on the ramp. Sometimes it will go back into the popper and get popped up again until it makes the ramp, sometimes it will hit the bottom of the flap and fall back onto the playfield, and of course sometimes it makes it onto the ramp as it should. I assume this is sort of normal behavior for a new flap and over time it will get more consistent, but not having a lot of experience with the game prior to restoring this one I'm not positive, so I wanted to mention it.

3) The game began random resets shortly after I put it back together. I purchased a kahr board to see if that would stop it, and it didn't. This happened at a time when I somewhat lost interest in pinball so the game sat untouched for nearly 2 years before I went back to try fixing it earlier this year. There's a thread on pinside that documents the trouble I had (https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/help-needed-with-wpc-95-coil-issues#post-4987137), but in summary the problem was fixed by replacing the components in the unregulated 12V circuit. This brought the voltage up to 12.8V from 11.9V, which was apparently enough. The game has only been played a few times since then, but the resets and random coil firings which had been consistent previously are no longer happening at all.

I currently have an open space in the lineup, so I'm not in a rush to sell but I'm thinking of getting an Iron Maiden and also hedging my bets against the next release from Stern so I thought I'd list it and see if there's interest. Given the time and money that went into this, I'm pretty firm on the price. As mentioned, I'll knock $400 off if you don't want the ColorDMD. I can assist with shipping if you arrange it. Not really looking for any trades except for perhaps an Iron Maiden premium plus cash. But ideally I prefer a cash sale.
