1979 Bally Kiss semi-project. Have two games coming in, so I need some space. I picked this game up as a complete project in pieces, with the playfield and boards removed.
The game will currently boot, but will not start a game and the playfield GI is dim. The J1, J2 and J3 connectors to the rectifier board have to be redone (slightly burnt), which is accounting for the dim GI and most likely the solenoid issue to start a game. Marco sells a kit, just didn’t get to that yet. Rectifier board tests perfectly after minimal repair, and all other boards have been gone through.
Backglass has some flaking, and the playfield has some very minor wear around some of the inserts.
The work I did so far on it / parts added or replaced:
- Cabinet cleaned inside and out (nice colors and good condition with some nicks and scrapes)
- Backbox frame touched up
- New Alltek MPU
- Legs, lock down bar and new apron sandblasted and powdercoated in Mirror Black (LD bar and legs were oxidized)
- Coin door cleaned, with new coin and Bally Free Play price plates
- Fully shopped with cool white LEDs and Titan orange rubber kit (backbox still incandescent for now)
- Plunger rebuilt with new chrome shooter rod
- Custom Kiss drop targets (not yet installed)
- New leg bolts, levelers, nuts and nylon protective washers
- Playfield hardware and gates polished, new screws
- New DB coin door lock
- Brand new custom apron magnet from Tilt Graphics
Game still needs a little work, but not much at all. It will need the siderails powdercoated to match (mirror black is common color), and decals for the apron. I was planning on making custom decals, but Pinrescue and eBay have original decal kits available, as well as Marco I believe. I have the original apron, which I’ll include but it’s pretty banged up and dented (hence the replacement).
I also have a brand new Shay repro backglass, which I paid $250 + shipping for just a few months ago. I can include the new glass for an additional $200 if somebody wants it. As noted above, the original backglass has some moderate flaking in a few areas, but overall isn’t too bad.
Also comes with original manual and custom keychain. Not looking for trades at this time. Feel free to PM with any offers or questions.
