Up for sale or Trade, a restored Gottlieb Street Fighter 2.
I have been working on this game for about 2 years, and you can see the transformation I performed here:
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/my-first-restoration-street-fighter-or-this-thing-should-be-dead
This machine more or less looks and plays like new.
To break it down, this is what I did to the machine:
Repainted the cabinet
New decals on the cabinet
Installed new cabinet rail
Installed new legs with leg protectors
New cabinet bottom
New cabinet speaker
Playfield completely stripped down and cleaned
Most of the coils had new liners installed
Playfield touched up
New car installed in lower playfield
LEDS installed throughout
New playfield glass
Alternate Transite installed (the original is included as well)
Repainted coin door
This was my first ground up restoration, and all did not go as planned, so as part of trying to fully disclose the condition of the machine, here are the flaws.
The front cabinet decal did have a fold in it I could not get out. It is near the lockbar/shooter area.
The shooter rod was a little bent, and I never could perfectly straighten it out. Sometimes when you pull back the shooter rod, the bushing comes out with it.
The new floor in the cabinet came up about a 1/4 inch short in the back.
The power switch is not centered in the hole on the bottom of the cabinet
I re-used the plastic guard over the transformer assembly, and it has a split on one side.
The coin door is missing a few parts, and one coin mech.
The playfied, while very good, does still have the factory mylar on it. The mylar has lifted between the words ‘Street Fighter’ on the playfield just below the window. I have glued it back down, but it is not completely even, and does have discoloration.
I am asking $2,400 cash for the machine or trade for another machine. I would love to have another project WPC game, or a nice Gottlieb Black Hole, or any of the system 11s on my wish list.
The game is located at my home in Tehachapi, California. However, I am willing to meet buyers in either Lancaster or Bakersfield. I also can arrange for it to be transported to Banning for the Arcade Expo. You won’t find a Street Fighter in better condition.
