About a year ago I put this up for trade and never found a good trade deal. I've now decided to sell it outright.

The good:

1. All lights and switches work as far as I can tell. Game plays as it should with no issues.

2. Game is decent overall for a 20+ year old pin that has been played. I have put LEDs in it (including flashers) but I can switch them out if that isn't your style (I think it looks amazing but not everyone likes LEDs especially in the flashers...) I also added the Cliffy protectors on the outholes and the play field looks MUCH better as a result.

3. The original soldered on 3v lithium battery has been replaced with a battery holder. You can now switch out the battery without any soldering. I would love to put NVRAM in this pin but they don't make a solution for the Gottlieb System 3s that I am aware of.

4. I didn't "mod" this thing with all sorts of crappy toys that don't even match the generation of Mario it was built from. This game is factory as far as I can tell except for the LEDs.

The bad:

5. I've noticed that the castle motor relay can get "knocked out of place" if the game is moved (folded up) or if the playfield is lifted too aggressively during service. I'm always able to get it going again by pushing on the relay so I haven't investigated further. It could be something simple for a permanent fix but I physically can't reach down there that easily to really get a good look.

6. There is play field wear on the obvious ball drop places and around one of the pop bumpers that never had factory mylar. The playfield is otherwise in decent shape I think given its age.

Few other minor points I want to mention (I like everyone to know what they are buying):

There is no cash box for this game.

There are small holes drilled in the front for what was likely a lock bar at one point. Not easily noticeable but they are there.

The back glass goes in very tight for some reason and the lock for the back glass area is missing. This caused the translite to tear a dime sized notch out in an area you can't notice unless the translite is physically removed from the game. I acquired a NOS translite that I'll include in this sale but I didn't put in the game yet.
