This amazing Gilligan's Island pin has been in my gameroom since March 2004, and last winter (a year ago) I completely shopped it to include the following:
- Completely stripped all components from the playfield.
- Cleaned/repaired/replaced every playfield piece.
- Replaced all rubbers, post sleeves, target backs, and pinballs.
- Replaced all posts, standoffs, and hardware (to include screws and nylon locknuts).
- Installed all BRAND NEW plastics. There are NO broken plastics on this machine! (There is a pic of the old original plastics that came off the machine, but they are not included in the sale.)
- Installed a full set of Coin Taker Preimum non-Ghosting LEDs in the backglass, on the playfield, and in the cabinet/coin door. There are no lightbulbs remaining anywhere in the machine.
- Installed pinblades. (See the photos. The pinblades really complete this machine!)
- Installed a new Island motor and relay.
- Installed a new beer seal.
- Installed a remote battery mount.
- Installed a custom Life Ring Plunger.
- The boards are perfect.
- There are no burnt connectors.
- The chrome is perfect.
- There is little to no cabinet fade.
- The backbox trim has all been replaced and is perfect
- The machine plays fast and strong with no issues.
The only known/visible issue with this machine is that the side rails are slightly dinged where the backbox contacts them when folded down, but I didn't want to risk damaging the cabinet sides by prying off the siderails because they aren't terrible. There is also a little imperfection in the paint near the flipper buttons as shown in the pics.
I have countless photos of the machine while it was being shopped and tons of Marco Specialties receipts that show what work that was done.
In my opinion GI is the most underrated pin I've ever seen or played. It has a simplistic shot map, but it's super fun to play and it isn't easy to beat. Everyone gravitates to the GI when they visit even though it's sitting next to a beautiful LED'd Haunted House machine because the gameplay is fast, the LED's pop, the audio is entertaining (and classic!), and it brings back memories for anyone old enough to remember watching Gilligan's Island on TV when you were a kid.
The island is one of the most unique toys in pinball, the playfield is in excellent condition thanks in part to the Diamond Plate, and as I mentioned above (but it's worth saying again) the LEDs really pop on this machine!
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I would prefer a local pickup so you can see the machine and play it before you buy it, and then carry it home with you.
One final note is that it's best to look at the photos in the reverse of the order they are posted. Start with the big picture stuff and then scroll to the details. More photos are also available.
Thanks!
Jim
