I know, lots of people who know I have been hunting for an LOTR will probably freak out at this ad, but hear me out.

The reason I am even putting this up is very simple...The issues it has are not terrible, but I don't have time to fix them right now. My wife just had hip surgery a few days ago, so I am unable to devote much time to this project from today until about 2 months from now. Quite frankly, I'm not cool just looking at the game. I'd rather put it into the wild for someone else. I'll hunt one down again later...The hunt sucked, sure, but it's what makes pinball buying/selling/trading fun (in a sick sort of way).

I fully intend to continue working on fixing the issues you see below until the right trade comes up, but as it sits on 6/21/15, the issues are what they are.

Here we go (HUGE post incoming):

I recently got an LOTR LE that needed a shop job. I did a tear down, cleaned it up, replaced rubbers and made some minor adjustments. I also put on a full set of Cliffy's, target and Shire decals, and plastic protectors.

However, there are a few minor issues I am working on.

1) Balrog motor works fine, but sometimes takes a moment to "engage". I will work on trying to get a video of it. I suspect that all it needs is minor adjustments. Hits register 100% of the time and the light inside works.

3) The sling plastics are cracked/chipped at the corner. I actually have a really good scan of them that I did. I am working on reprinting the plastics on my own because I don't want to pay for a full set of plastics.

4) The Shire VUK plastic was cracked, so I removed it. I considered making a new one (even bought a Rivet Press), but I don't know if I will.

5) The ring LED board was missing, so I bought a new one. I haven't installed it yet because I haven't been to Lowe's to get screws. An issue that exists due to my laziness.

Other things to note:

1) The game could use a flipper rebuild. I have the kit purchased, but I just haven't done it yet. Coils seem perfectly fine, but I haven't even looked at or inspected them.

2) The brass is tarnished where your hands would rest on the lockbar. Annoying.

3) The legs are a bit tarnished and dirty. I bought a set of black coated Stern legs to replace them with until these are refinished. Obviously included.

4) The bolts are kind of blah, so I bought 8 brass bolts, too.

5) There is no coin box...It wasn't there when I got it.

6) I had to replace the coin door lock. I also have a lock for the backglass, but I don't have a key. So that needs to either be fitted for a key or a new backglass lock purchased.

7) I purchased a few new plungers and coils to adjust some of the coils that are a bit weak, but I just haven't put them in yet. One is for the Bladur (?) tower because that kickout is pretty weak. I bought a few springs before knowing that I don't actually need to replace springs very often.

8) There is mylar where the ball drops, by the pops, and on the cabinet by the buttons. Being factory cleared, the playfield is pristine.

9) There was minor wear on the places where the Cliffy's went, but nothing major. I have pics that I can upload.

10) I forgot to order leg protectors. The part the legs cover is NOT 100% perfect, but it's far from bad (I'd give it an 8 or 9/10). There is zero noticeable wear with the legs on. I can get pictures if someone cares that much about what will always be covered. :)

That's about all I can think of for now. I will get more pictures and such as requested.

Ideally, I'd like to trade this away. I went through the top 300 games and picked some that I would enjoy. I am not looking to add cash, so this would be games + cash or straight trades. In the order I saw them as I went through (not necessarily the order I want them):

TZ, TAF, IJ4, SM, STtNG, IM, BSD, X-Men LE, Congo, PotC, Taxi, RBION, TWD, JP, Mustang, Stargate, SoF, F14, Rollergames, Demo Man, X-Files

Other games are obviously considered, but that's my working list.
