I’m making some room, so I’m selling my Gottlieb Arena.
The Good:
I’ve done a complete topside teardown shop job with 3 coats of hard carnauba wax within the past couple months. The playfield is in amazing shape and has polished factory mylar. There is NO wear through to wood anywhere or planking and little to zero ball trails. Inserts are nice and flat, everywhere even under the plastics are day 1 clean! The ramp is brand new (Ramp-O-Matic) and has no trails or cracks. Everything works perfect electronically except for what is noted below. The MPU has no acid damage, and I've installed a super memory cap in place of the battery and all ground mods have been completed. I put Comet single SMD LEDs in the inserts (color matched, and put Warm White in the clears, oranges and yellows) and warm white in the GI. It has new posts, Rubbers, coil sleeves, LED back box lamp replacement, balls and a NOS translite. I added an LED strip to the upper bagatelle area too. It’s easily removed if it’s not to you taste, but I’ve always felt that that area should be lighted.
The Bad:
The cabinet has some swelling on the front ONLY (most noticeably around the start button). BUT overall the cabinet is 100% solid, not other water damaged and not crumbling in any way like happens with these 80B games often. Also, as you can see from the pics, someone decided to splatter painted the entire outer cabinet. It’s honestly not a horrible job, and after a few days it didn’t even bother me anymore (and it’s not like you see the cabinet when you are playing anyways). Maybe you could remove it? But it’s even, consistent and actually applied very well….. I’d just let it be what it is. Also it looks way WAY more prevalent in pictures for some reason than it is in real life.
The “bridge” lights (in the skinny tubes) work when they want to. I’ve had 3 Arenas and they have all behaved the same way. My plan was to eventually weave a set of those teeny tiney 5VDC LED “fairy lights” from Amazon into the tubes toss out the old ones, but I just never got the time.
The top right plastic on the bagatelle is missing.
Look at the pics, ask questions. I feel like I’ve priced this realistically and on the low side to reflect the amazing condition and new parts overall and the minor negatives so please let’s not waste each other’s time. I’m willing to ship at your expense (have shipped numerous times), no holds without a non-refundable deposit. Thanks for looking!
