Data East Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends game has gone through significant refurbishment. The hard work is done and ready to play for many years to come or for any mods or final cosmetic touches you might want to do, otherwise The game is in excellent working order and should serve for many years to come. Significant restoration and upgrades include
New color LED display (PIN2DMD) these energy-efficient displays are much more reliable than the original orange plasma displays that wear out
New reproduction WABAC ramp with new decals
New Cliffy full metal protector kit including ramps and hole protectors
Comet LEDs throughout including the back box but Tri-Ball ring which uses a lot of fade effects that look bad with LEDs. LED flashers in the backbox.
Functional hat trick back box with new thicker arm and lion plastics
Flipper rebuilds on both sides, with new end stops, plungers, linkage, springs, coil sleeves, nylon flipper bushings, crank bars, and upgraded silicone orange rubbers
Upgraded backbox speakers with tweeters and auxiliary power supply for the soundboard which removes the unwanted background noise/hum common on Data East games of this period
Refurbished legs, with brand new leg levelers with felt bottoms to protect floors, new extra long chromed leg bolts, and new leg-protecting plastic bolt spacers.
Replaced several targets and switches with the correct 3D color matched to the original game targets
NVRAM upgrade so the game no longer requires AA batteries to remember scores and settings. This avoids the potential of a battery acid leak damaging the circuit boards.
New white buttons
New reproduction launch button housing, a bit smaller than the original but way better than the beat up ones you find on most machines if they still have them
Set of brand-new pinballs
Other typical shop activities like waxing the playfield, replacing rubbers as needed, adjusting leaf switches, extensive play testing, and so on.
Condition information
Inside the backbox is really ideal condition, the boards are hack free and there is no acid damage, hardly could ask for better.
The cabinet artwork on the right side is scratched, it has been painted in with color-matching paint but is not ideal. The rest of the cabinet has typical wear and tear.
Not replaced plastics show typical usage for a game this age, this includes cracked and missing plastics parts, and the rare moose horn topper is not included. CPR makes a great reproduction plastics set which would really finalize this restoration.
Typical wear on the backglass where the trick happens, never seen a RAB without this wear.
The playfield glass is fairly scratched, for $50 I can replace the glass with brand new glass.
