Item description

For Sale: A nice, and fully working, example of one of the very desirable golden-age classic Bally's - KISS! A full tear-down, bulletproofing, and shop job, was just completed - the game presents well, and plays 100%.

A cash sale is preferred; however, I am still looking for a RBION and a WH2O. If you have either, and would like to work this machine in on a trade, I would be excited to discus a deal with you.

Details of the rehab work on this machine are as follows:

• SOLENOID DRIVER BOARD: The two electrolytic filter capacitors were replaced w/new, the recommended ground modifications completed, and all connector pins were inspected and re-flowed as-needed.

• MPU: I originally found this table in the basement of the bar where it was most recently routed (15+ years ago!). The game was dead; however, much to my surprise, not from battery leakage/alkaline corrosion. The original MPU was in surprisingly good shape. To bring it back to life - it was washed, and the original dedicated rechargeable battery removed. Memory-function was restored with a new Weebly NVRAM, and the overall functionality repaired by replacing the PIA's at U10 and U11. All connector pins were also inspected and re-flowed as-needed.

• SOUND BOARD: All electrolytic capacitors were replaced w/new, the two volume/sustain adjust pots were replaced w/new, and U1 was socketed and the IC replaced w/new.

• LAMP DRIVER: The SCR at Q3 was replaced w/new, and all connector pins were inspected and re-flowed as-needed.

• AUX LAMP DRIVER: All connector pins were inspected and re-flowed as-needed.

• RECTIFIER BOARD: All female connector pins were replaced with w/new Trifurcon pins, and the connector plastics on J1 & J3 were replaced w/new. All male connector pins were inspected and re-flowed as needed.

• DISPLAYS: All connector pins were inspected and re-flowed as-needed. Four of the original displays were bright and clear, and the fifth was gassed off and replaced with a clean original I had in my parts bin. The voltage at which the displays run was also reduced to preserve them during future use.

• SHOP JOB: Details of the general shop-work completed is as follows:

- All playfield & backbox GI lighting was replaced with new cool/natural white Comet LED's (feature lights still incandescent);

- Complete top-side tear-down;

- Playfield cleaned, polished, and waxed;

- All playfield rubber was replaced with a new set of black Titan silicone rings, and orange Titan flipper rubber;

- All post-cap retainer nuts were replaced w/new;

- The under playfield drop target assembly was removed, dissembled, and cleaned. All 4 targets were replaced with new custom "Kiss-Head" targets from Classic Arcades (they look great!);

- New EOS switches were installed on both flippers;

- Faulty diodes on the left flipper were replaced w/new;

- Two faulty capacitors were replaced on the pop-bumper switches;

- The original stainless coin door was hand polished, and a new/reproduction "Bally" decal was applied;

- Five game fuses were replaced with new correct rating/burn, and the remainder verifier to be of the correct rating/type;

- All new, powder coated, Bally grey legs were installed w/new levelers and bolts; and

- New pinball installed.

Please review the pictures closely for additional condition details, and don't hesitate to reach out with any questions, or if you would like to see additional photos of a specific area. The original playfield has great color and cleaned up pretty well. Like most of the playfields on this title that saw extensive use, this machine does have moderate wear in the common areas (most evident around the center insert cluster). The original mirrored backglass is nice, stable, and without flaking or major flaw. There were two or three separation lines, about 1/2"-1" long, on the bottom of the glass. I triple-thicked the lower 3" to remediate the early stages of separation, and preserve the original glass in the future. The cabinet shows very nicely, is not as faded as most, but does have some historic touch ups and fade on the front face. The cabinet is very solid and doesn't appear to have ever been abused, or exposed to moisture or a bad storage environment.

The game is located in Central Pennsylvania, just off I-99. Pickup is highly preferred, but shipping is all-good too as long as the buyer makes all the arraignments, and payment-in-full has cleared my account before the game leaves my possession.
