The Black Hole pinball machine is the amazing game that has an extra playfield built inside of it. There are 6 flippers, 6 pop bumpers, and 3 balls all playing at once. Blistering speed! This commercial machine can accept coins.

When it first came out in 1981, it was one of the earliest electronic games, and kind of unreliable. Over the years, hundreds of fixes were proposed. My tech repair guy, John, who worked for the Intel Computer Corporation's repair department, analyzed ALL the proposed fixes, and implemented the ones that worked. There's even a book out now just for Black Hole upgrades. You get a full set of the circuit diagrams, of course, blown-up to blueprint size so they are very readable. John and I restored 3 Black Hole machines over a period of 10 years. I did all the mechanical repairs; he did all the electronic repairs.

This is one fast game! We went back and upgraded the playing coils to the original powerful specifications. Gottlieb, the manufacturer, had to dumb down the consumer version release, because it was so "hot," things kept breaking. We also modified the lower play-field with a sheet of Plexiglass covering it. Otherwise, the super-fast balls would shoot up into the mechanisms below the top play-field and jam the game mechanisms.

In 3-ball play, with 2 play-field levels going, it is heart-racing action, and never failed to get my adrenaline up. I sold my 2 other Black Hole machines to friends in the San Francisco Bay area for, and they are very happy with them. You get free delivery in the San Francisco-San Jose Bay Area.

The machine comes with the original service manual, a full set of flawless oversized circuit diagrams and a pictorial guide to assembling the parts. You can also have the circuit diagrams picture files to share or re-print.
