Circus (Gottlieb 1980)

Here’s a sweet example of a rare system 80, a 1980 Gottlieb Circus extra widebody, one of only a few titles made like it along with Genie and Roller Disco though this is one with the later system80 board set. First the good! The mirrored backglass is in unbelievable condition with only a minimal amount of pinholing behind the lower clowns’ faces! See the picture—easily the best Circus bg I’ve ever seen, and that Gordon Morison artwork, wow! The cabinet has typical but not excessive wear, the playfield is nice with only one dime sized spot of wear by the kick out hole. The plastics are all 100% except for an inch sized crack in the top left which is barely visible within the artwork. Drops and pop caps are all original. Everything works save just 1 of the controlled lights (3x.) (It'll fire from the tab but not in gameplay.) Game boots every time & it plays & works great, including the Roto target which is snappy and accurate with a new spring, drop target bank, pops, all switches and all flippers & displays. The player one display was clearly replaced at some point, it's nice and bright, all the rubber is replaced. Now the less than good: The 2-4 displays show a bit dimmer than the first display, though they work great. The coin door has some damage on the coin return tray, and the cabinet has some scratches. It's missing a lane guide up top. That's it! Otherwise it’s all amazingly original save new rubber & select LED’s. No battery corrosion on the MPU, please see photos. No amateur touch ups. Would prefer trade for other system 80, 80A or 80B titles, make me an offer! Or will sell outright. Projects +cash ok too. I'll be in process of doing the necessary mods and fixes myself, but thought I'd give another collector a chance at a good value before I start to put time & $ into it. PM me with any questions.
