Here’s a solid player’s condition rarity and a fun one to boot – Pharaoh by Williams.

The game is overall fully-functional, with all switches, buttons, magnets, lights, etc. working as they should. All self-tests pass, including all speech and solenoid tests. The cabinet is solid, with the side and front artwork still intact and a bare minimum of scratching, fading, etc. I did leave the Texas 1984 tax sticker on the front, to give it some local flavor.

The playfield was stripped, cleaned and waxed. New stickers have been applied to all 12 drop targets and a new rubber kit installed. Two new balls were also substituted for the old ones.

A new button battery mod was installed to save settings, credits and scores when turned off. All PCB headers cleaned and reflowed with newly pinned connectors and new components added where needed for functionality.

The legs were stripped of some rust on the display chrome portions of them. There is one broken plastic that faces the the ball chute (small, lower-right corner missing) and there is one spot of wear on the playfield near the upper slingshot that’s been covered with Mylar to prevent any further degradation.

These have the very old-timey Williams coin mechs and are not able to accept quarters due to some smaller parts missing but they are still good for coining up the game manually. Also, there is no tilt ball or plumb bob, but tilt section still does function when triggered.

The coin door and backglass lock bar locks work and have the keys.

Obviously, the worst thing about this machine is the backglass. It’s the original and is badly flaking along the bottom and mid-lower right side. Triple-Thick has been applied to stop any further degradation. There are two different kinds of translites available for this game should the new owner wish to strip the original art and apply one.

Pharaoh is a fun game (that also taught me how to spell a tricky word) with one of the busiest upper playfields I’ve ever played!
