SharpShooter (Gameplan 1979) Pinball Machine

Theme: Wild West / Western / American West / Shooter / Cowboy

Sharpshooter was produced by Game Plan in 1979.
Game Plan released 30 different machines in our database under this trade name, starting in 1978.

This game is so fast and so much fun! The layout makes it a continual challenge, but it is also easy to rake up some decent scores. The drop target placement makes it a continual challenge and provides the opportunity to increase your times multiplier. The loop around is challenging but very rewarding. The 50k shot is nearly impossible to shoot, but worth so much, its still worth trying. Its not an easy extra ball, so extra rewarding when you do get it. Extremely well laid out, and easy to show a newbie, yet difficult to get a high score unless you are a, well, .... a sharp shooter.

Gameplay:
Notable Features: Flippers (2), Pop bumpers (4), Slingshot (1), Star rollovers (5), Stand-up targets (2), 7-bank drop targets (1), Kick-out hole (1), Spinning target (1).
Sharpshooter offers a wonderful balance of drops, pops, lanes, rollovers, spinner and saucer; plenty to shoot at, each giving their own reward! The game feels balanced in terms of scoring, with the real jackpot being the elusive 50,000, which is a nice chunk of points, but not so much it renders all other players listless! This game lives up to it's name and offers the players so many tempting targets. Some are close to the flippers and others are full playfield shots. Sounds are extremely well done, from the sound of a shot being fired, a horse trotting, a missile incoming sound, and so, so much more! Double pop bumpers by the flippers gives so much enjoyment seeing the ball bounce between the bumper and slingshot! This game literally has the strongest flippers I have ever seen. Don’t smack the ball too hard, or it will go flying! The horseshoe and the saucer shots as well as the orbit are tight and skillful. Roger Sharpe's image on the backglass and now politically incorrect ladies at his feet make for some conversation at the kitchen table. Coin it up and the sounds emanating from within are the exemplary of 1979 state of the art. Gameplay is fast paced and varied, with intense action focused near the powerful flippers. Rewarding and frustrating in amounts that beckon another play, over, and over again! The theme action is fast and there is plenty to shoot at with the drop targets, spinner, kick-out hole, etc. Having the two pop bumpers near the right flipper is real tricky and you need good reflexes to keep the ball from directly draining!
