Item description

Timme (Tim Meighan) restoration with Bill Davis playfield.

When I purchased this machine, I wanted it to be special. I found a really nice example and sent the machine to Bill Davis, the man RGP considered to be "the man" for making playfields and cabinets look like new or better. Huge wait to get it back, but after that, I shipped the machine to Seattle for Tim to do his magic for mechanical restoration. I wanted the best, which involved shipping to 2 different people in different parts of the country at the time. The backless was in good shape, and I still have it, but I purchased a Repro, and that is what is now on the machine. I replaced all parts I could find.

It does not get played as it should, and I downsized this past year by selling my Kings and Queens and KOD. I valued my Flip-a-Card more. When people saw the Flip-a-Card in the pictures, some contacted me about it, but it was not for sale.

I always wanted the right EBD and one just went up for sale here this past week, local, HEP with chrome, for 14.2k. I started to think maybe I should sell my Flip-a-Card and see what I could work out for the EBD, not thinking it would fetch the full asking price. Well, the EBD sold immediately, but I am thinking I want to get some space and some of the $ for another EBD should another HEP restoration come along or should I just get a machine and send it to Chris.

I have a feeling that my Flip-a-Card is the nicest example of that machine, and it is for the person that can appreciate this classic Gottlieb wedgehead and what went into it. I I see there are no other Flip-a-Cards on the market, and no listings since 2020. Certainly, in general, these machines, when they come up, sell for way less than my asking price when not restored at all and in not so good condition just as I also see EBDs that sold for $3,500 this year vs 14.2K most recently. .

If no sale after awhile, I would take lower, but if too much lower, I would just keep it. I have a sprinter van, pinball dolly, furniture blankets, etc. and am willing to deliver to Los Angeles or OC area to an established Pinsider.

FYI: This did not sell to a Pinsider. It sold on CL. So far, I have always listed here first, but it seems like eBay and CL have worked for me better in the past, but with limited selling experience. Sold for $4,900 and I delivered it to the local buyer today as a courtesy. He was very happy to be getting this as he once had this machine, sold it, and had regrets. I think all of you should disclose sale prices as a courtesy to other Pinsiders. I am listing it here because if I recall, when I say I sold it off pinside, they do not always let you give details.
