18 years ago I found this machine on eBay. Drove to the Ohio/Kentucky border for this barely running off route disaster. The owner had it in a garage with a nylon cord running from the outhole kicker through the coin door lock hole to kick the ball into play! Missing "Xenon Tube", credit and player #4 displays, light strip, and several drop targets. Corrosion on the CPU. Wires from the harness soldered directly to the Solenoid Driver Board, and smoke around a few of the transistors. However, the playfield had factory mylar with little wear for the age and good looking glass. Disappointed but paid and brought it back home.

Ordered a reproduction tube and LED light strip in 2003 to find some of the hardware was missing. Machine wouldn't run without blowing the +43 solenoid fuse on boot. I put the machine in storage and just maintained my other games.

Fast forward to 2020 and COVID-19 lockdown. Revisited Xenon after all these years. Decided to rebuild the wiring harness connectors, fix the SDB and Lamp drivers, replace coils, new slingshot and knocker, installed missing displays, etc. Added the Alltek CPU since the original was shot. Added a line from the Aux Driver to the backbox ground and all the infinity lights started working again.

Finally got the machine to boot without blowing fuses.

Even more items came to light--miswired lamps, most of the lamp sockets were rusted, busted, and in bad shape, which took out many lamp driver SCRs. I got frustrated pulling so many sockets and replaced them with warm LEDs as shown in the photos.

The cabinet was in bad shape and the former owner had attempted some repairs. Tried to stabilize some of those weaknesses in the backbox support. Not pretty but now much more stable and no more wobbling backbox.

Electrically and physically this is now a fast playing game that will run for a long time but far from being a showroom piece. Condition is as shown in the photos. I've spent way too much time getting the machine running, someone else can take this restoration to the next level.
