Echzell in Germany is a small town near Frankfurt where nothing much seems to be happening at first sight. Pinball enthusiasts may however want to take a second look as a former supermarket has been transformed into Freddy’s Pinball Paradise. With about 170 pinball machines set up the location proved to be a perfect setting for the 10th IFPA Pinball World Championships in 2013. But there's more: Freddy’s is also selling new Stern Pinball games, Jersey Jack Pinball and Chicago Gaming Company games. On top of that he also has an online shop for pinball spare parts and modding parts.

Convolux // fluorescent plastic protectors // available for your pinball game!
For our online shop we've developed a new product: our Convolux plastic protectors. They are clear plastic protectors to put under the plastics of the playfield. when the ball hits the plastic it won’t crack or break. We figured we could tie this together with an optical effect, so you would not only protect your game, but pimp your pinball at the same time. We looked into finding the right materials and came up with fluorescent plexiglass. This is available in the colors yellow, orange, red, green and blue.
Right now we have plastic protector sets for over a hundred different pinball machines and we continue to add more titles. At our online shop you can see a very simple chart that shows which colors are available for which game.
When using LEDs under the Convolux the effect is much bigger than with normal light bulbs. Some customers prefer their game to be very bright and use LEDs, others prefer to stay with the traditional light bulbs. Both works - but the lighter the bulb the bigger is the fluorescent effect.

For our online pinball parts shop we have developed some new products: our Convolux plastic protectors(see fotos attached). There have been clear plastic protectors to put under the plastics of the playfield, so when the ball hits the plastic it won’t crack or break. We figured we could tie this together with an optical effect, so you would not only protect your game, but pimp your pinball at the same time. We looked into finding the right materials and came up with fluorescent plexiglass. This is available in the colors yellow, green, red and orange. Right now we have plastic protector sets for over a hundred different pinball machines and we continue to add more titles. These plastics really add something to the game. For most games we have a set of four plastics to protect the slingshots and the outlane plastics. But some games we decided to do more plastics.
: Most of the time we offer three or four colors. For a game like Terminator 2 it makes no sense to offer a green set. Nobody is going to buy that, it doesn’t look good. Red and orange look much better in that game. Recently we also added blue. The blue protectors are made from a different material, which lights up differently. It is less bright, which some people actually prefer. On the website we put up a very simple chart that shows which colors are available for which game.
When using LEDs the Convolux effect is much bigger than with normal light bulbs. Some people prefer their game to be very bright and use LEDs, others prefer to stay with the traditional light bulbs. That’s all good. Some people want to drive a Mercedes, others prefer a Ferrari. Everybody has their own personal preferences.
