Roanoke Pinball Museum

They wouldn't sell me a t-shirt on my way out because they closed the register (about 20m to close). Make sure to buy merch on the way in if you want any.

For the people who want to play pinball and video games, or for the people whose children who want to play video games while the adults play pinball, the option now exists in Roanoke. The Roanoke Starcade, an arcade with many older and some newer video games, recently opened in the Center in the Square complex. The Walking Dead (Pro) machine is also in Starcade. The admission prices are: Pinball Museum only-$12.50; Starcade only-$10.00; and Pinball Museum/Starcade combo-$17.50. The Starcade is on the second floor as the Pinball Museum, just follow the arrows.

The museum currently has reduced hours and customer capacity. They have two hour slots and allowing only ten people per time slot. Tickets can be purchased online on the museum website. The machines were fixed during the closure and most machines played well. There is a special old machine called Beach Queens (not listed in the pinball list) that customers can play for 5 cents. It's a special machine with several bumpers and no flippers. The machine is very tilt sensitive. People can play Beach Queens for prizes such as decals, t-shirts, and other items.

Really enjoyed a stop here recently. My wife and I played for a couple of hours under pandemic rules. Lots of older EM machines and newer machines too. Only a few machines being serviced or not working. Highly recommend the stop and downtown Roanoke has lots of nearby restaurants within walking distance. We enjoyed a nearby Mexican restaurant.

Wow! What a great lineup of machines! I need to make the trip to Roanoke to visit.
