My score may reflect it as low, but it's a product of the time, and a great game for when it came out.

It's an interesting layout, right in the era of going from EM to Solid State. It borrows from several other ideas in Williams EM machines, but makes them all work together nicely, shots are fun, and the game is fast, when you have a great spinner, it is one hell of a shot.

I'll admit that I'm not a huge soccer (or "football") fan. Sure I played back when I was younger and would probably still enjoy participating in a game. . . even though everyone else would be running circles around me.

Whatever. Even though there is not a soccer ball in my closet or a pair of cleats hanging from my wall I enjoyed playing this pin quite a bit.

The layout provides several lanes to shoot for in an attempt to score goals and advance your bonus. The kickout "catches" along the inlanes keep you on your toes with the flippers as its very difficult to catch and hold a ball via rolling back towards the inlane. The spinner in the center of the playfield is an interesting target but fitting for the theme as if you were shooting the pinball thru the goal.

If I see one out an about I'd enjoy putting some games in again -- if you really enjoy soccer this pin might be a must have for you.

This a fun game if you are a recreational player. As for the more serious player, what makes this game different is the kickout holes next to the flippers, it takes away many of my flipper controlled shots... Others may like it, unfortunately i don't.. The other two kickout holes in the middle playfield is also a game changer... The spinner is nicely placed and fun to rip at, and the pop-bumpers are balanced. This could have been a really good game if it was not for the poorly place kickout holes...

"World Cup" is a decent starter table for those who want to get involved with the hobby and learn how to play. That said, there isn't much "fun" to be had here. The audio is comprised of basic "boops" and "bleeps" and the the object of the game is to rack up points by "scoring goals" which is far too easy since the "corner kick" gimmick does this for you when you attempt to trap the ball. There isn't much else I can say.

Meh, it's alright but just kind of a one and done game. The slingshots are like Space Mission, which i feel is a much better game than this one that is newer and solid state. World Cup just doesn't have the strategy or amount of shots that other games from the era have. It looks like an older EM Era playfield.

Pros: its usually cheap, soccer theme if that's your thing, and hey its still pinball. Great starter game.

Picked up this game mainly because the WCS94 has been one of my all time favorites, and I always thought it would be cool to have both. Plus they are always pretty cheap. Just finding one thats not totally blown out is the issue.
Its a decently fun game. Not much to it but it does have a few challenging shots. The mid section spinner & the combo superball into corner kick lane is fun.
Not your standard slings. Each one has a little lane for the ball to fall into before it kicks it back to the playfield. Which makes trapping the ball almost impossible.
It wont get played as much as the 94, but it will get its fair share.

This was my very first pinball machine. Weir pinball helped me bring it back to life. It plays like a late 70’s pinball machine. The big draw back is the kick outs on the back side of the flippers. Can easily dump into those which fires straight into the ball advance. Rinse and repeat.

This game looks like it would play well. I got my hands on it at PAPA and it was set up and played very easily. I rolled it after my first game. With this in mind this review is made with the idea that this game can be set up in a more challenging manner. Please note that the score for play is what I found on this single machine.

The Pros:
Good shots. The game PF is space odyssey/space mission with a few variations. The spinner in the middle of the PF is nice. I really like the inserts on the game as well. Christian Marche does the artistic honors and puts together a nice package.

The Cons:
The game I played was too easy. Set it to 3 ball, steepen it and open up the outlanes. Fortunately, there are software adjustments as well.

The Takeaway:
With some tweaking, this game could be a player. I still think I would like space mission / space odyssey better though.

I love this game. The soccer theme is great and the game is moderately challenging even for experience players. I like the fact that you can change the difficulty level as you improve. Another under rated pin!

This pinball is very basic and it's all about the spinners. The rules are artwork are pretty basic. Not many shots and ball times are very short. Most players will tire of the game due to lack of shots. But high scores are challenging.
