Sound that you can hear across the arcade..

Back in the mid-90's, when I was working for an arcade chain, we had this game in our lineup. Back then, I wasn't too interested in the game. I played it a few times, but never really got into gameplay.

Several days a week, during lunch, a group of fancily-dressed business guys would come in and play this game, for about an hour. You could always hear them playing it, because they absolutely loved the "GOALLL!!!" sound bytes, and would yell at the top of their lungs with the announcer.

Once they learned that the asst manager there (myself) liked pinball, they would ask me to turn up the volume. And I usually did - because it only got them that much more worked up when playing the game.

Now, twenty years later, I'm their age and love the game. I refer to it as 'the ego game', since the announcer is really out to just inflate your ego while playing..
