What is spinning ball doing?

My first pinball purchase, a great price for a dot matrix pinball. Lots of lights and simple rules and sound that make a very impressive game, especially after I upgraded the original speakers. It's also a challenging game as I have yet to reach the world cup, no complaints here. Some people might be turned off by the soccer theme, but I see myself keeping this pin for awhile due to the challenging playfield. Never mind that's it's soccer. It's still a lot of fun to play.

Can't really get into this game but I am not a soccer fan either. The goalie works and reacts well but the spinning soccer ball is just lame and takes up space. Artwork is average. Sounds and dots are decent. Game play is just average. Not one I want to own.

Once you get past the crappy translite its actually a really fun pin with some variation on game play. I goalie and spinning ball are a challenge and the game has good flow.

Fun game, the spinning soccer ball and goalie create a different feel. which is a good thing.

Worth playing a few games when you see one. Goal w/ goalie done well. Sounds ok to me, not too annoying.

One of the better DMD games and can be had for a fraction of the cost of other games by the same designer. Great first pin and machine offers enough fun and challenge to last in your collection for a long time.

Own(ed): Yes

Times Played: 100s

PF layout resembles Scared Stiff. Goalie shot is fun and making/starting super ramps and pops is cool.
Wizard mode is a true adrenaline rush and one of the best ever. Mode start shot is challenging.

The rules fall a bit flat in places and the four modes get old.

Great game, highly recomended!

WCS is a wonderful pin. Getting to the 'Final Draw' multiball and having to defeat the other countries and win the World Cup is always a rush. Scoring a goal is always cool, even after you have done so a thousand times. Other pinheads may not go for the artwork or the backglass, etc. Those elements (good or bad) are not big factors for me. What's important to me are: (a) is it fun and (b) is it fun after I've played it a few hundred times. In my book, WCS gets a strong 10 on those two factors. One other plus is that WCS sells for a lot less than other '90's pins. Not sure why, but I ain't complainin'! Lastly, the ball times seem a little shorter to me than on some other games. But it's not a ball drain game, either. At any rate, I like that a well-played game of WCS doesn't have to take 30+ minutes of my time.

A very fun game. Love the goalie and the spinning ball. A good game for the casual or beginner due to some easy shots like the goalie. Ranked #46 on here, a very underrated pin. Probably because of the lame Snoopie wannabe dog. But as for game play, it is excellent.
I think it is more fun the machines I have ranked higher like IM and BDK but the artwork puts it lower in the rankings.

This is a good solid game. Not one I would personally wish to own as the theme doesn't rock my world but it has good flow and lots to shoot for.

I simply don't like football, so find it very hard to enjoy this game... it might have excellent rules, but I just don't like the theme, so it puts me off playing it!

The soccer theme does nothing for me, but this game is great fun! Lots of excitement, decent flow, fun shots, great audio and lights, and a wizard mode. Good bang for your buck.

This is a great value game. The rules are not deep, and the game can get rather repetitive, but this makes for a good starter game or a game in a larger collection. Newbies love the game and scoring goals is satisfying, even for skilled players. The game has some of the best pinball music out there, and the speech is great (NBA Jams announcer!).

Only gripes are that the game can be repetitive in small collection and that I really dislike the color scheme they used (teal and purple...just doesn't seem right). As long as the game sits below $2K, it's a worthwhile purchase.

Overall good game with a layout packed with shots and stuff to hit.
The goalie and the spinning ball are neato.

Not the greatest theme but never judge a book by its cover. If I ever find room for 15 pins this will be in my collection .

A game that I keep on coming back to. Awesome game, one of my favorites, terrible art work.

Update: Lastabitiy not that great for me

Love WCS94. My first pin' and still in my collection. It has so many great features... DMD, pop bumpers, skill shot, kickback, magna-save, roll-overs, toys, etc. The game flow is great and you feel like you are the soccer player. Everyone loves the goal and hearing "GOOOAAAALLLL!" This isn't a super deep game, but it is fun as you have your multiball jackpot matches against other teams, traveling to the world cup soccer finale in LA, the striker hole and missions, and the TV hole and its mini-goals to accomplish. The game keeps you busy, is easy to step up to and play, and as you develop your pin skills, there is more to do. Just plain fun. Yes... the colors are a bit off (teal and pink?!) and the Striker dog is not as intimidating as say a T-2 terminator but, overall is a great pin for a great price.

Not bad. As a former soccer player, I find the theme enjoyable, but not terribly engaging.
