I have owned this game for 2 years and I feel it is a top 10 of all time. This machine screams "pinball at its best". A time when the technology is exciting enough to keep things interesting but before manufacturers started making games on the cheap lacking heart and soul.

In my personal opinion, to optimize the game experience, definitely add a few spotlights on lower playfield and one on upper. Tough light. Mountain light and mountain skull mod. LED the heck out of it. Otherwise the beautiful artwork gets lost in murkiness.

How 2018 and 2019 music theme games are ranked higher blows my mind!

White Water is the first pinball machine I bought. The game is used and had obviously out on route in a bar because of the cigarette smoke smell we get when opening the coin door or removing the back glass. It played great, but is/was in need of upgrading of old rubber items, replacing of a couple of weak kicker coils, and damaged targets as well. Well that is until a couple of years back when playing it I “tilted” it and the flippers stopped working. Am in the process of replacing parts that I’m capable of. Have replaced the CPU with an MPU (less batteries & holder), as well as the DOT Matrix board. Next up is replacing two bad coils and then moving in to any switches as well as replacing smaller items.

I love the play of the game, and the technical shots shots for the whirlpool, advancing the rafts, etc. The various related sounds for the game enhance its playability, as well as the topper and the lighting behind the back glass for Wet Willie and the others. And lest I forget, getting to make Big Foot spin his head adds to the enjoyment of playing White Water.

Love the many ramps on this game, lost mine VUK is always fun. Love that sound of the ball hitting the glass off a strong shot to insanity falls. Would love to own one some day.

Love playing this pin on location! It might he get old in the home, but it’s one of the best multiplayer pins out there, and for a 90s pin I’d take this all day over Monster Bash.

Really fun game! I really enjoy the setup for this game with all the ramps. It’s really nice details on it with god artwork. If you find it, buy it!

WHIRLPOOL!

The good: Incredibly fun! Variety of shots. Plays fast and the shots flow well. Unique layout. Theme is a classic and should attract pretty much everyone.

The bad: Callouts can get a bit repetitive, but that's kinda nitpicky. Cabinet art is good, but isn't the best.

Overall: Amazing game. Truly one of the best. You really can't go wrong with white water. I'm always happy to spend hours on a white water.

I really wanted to like this game but was sadly disappointed by the constant ball drain cause by the layout of shots the upper play field look and plays well but not a machine I will likely play again

For me, White Water is the perfect example of a game someone can know nothing about, just aim for the flashing lights and do well in (assuming they can keep the ball alive). I think the game does a great job of directing you through the gameplay in a way that is just easy to understand and see. My favorite part of the PF has always been the rapids ramp. I'm a sucker for great ramps and that one is one of the greatest of all time. I'm not a fan of the lower right side of the PF as it's pretty chaotic with those pop bumpers. Lots of drain potential over there. All in all, it's a game I'll always step up and play when I see it because it's straightforward and a lot of fun.

Not a bad game. Well executed. If I had an arcade with 20 pins this would probably be there. But I think it doesn't offer anything especially distinctive that would place it at the top of any collector's list.

This game is just pure fun. The ability to light up RIVER with the inlane/outlanes means you have to be thinking the whole time even if the ball is up on the second level.

White water has one of the best set of multi level ramps. The callouts are good and the jackpot shots for the waterfall ramp feels visually rewarding. Theme, sound, gameplay and depth, there is just a good mix of everything here. Great waterfall effect topper

I've only had my beaters players machine for a few weeks, but it is fixing up quite nicely. Ramps Ramps Ramps! I love Ramps and they are integrated sooooo well in this machine. I also really like the ramp diverting yeti, and the topper is 1 of a kind. There is a great risk/reward when starting multiball, and soo much to shoot for. I really like the upper playfield and skill shot of getting it up there on the first plunge. I highly recommend this game and would put it in the same category of quick non-adventure games as Fish Tales, World Cup Soccer, and Taxi.

I am a sucker for ramps, which is basically all this game is: ramps, a scoop, and some drop targets. Each ramp leads to a cave or another stream. There's also a really sweet upper playfield with one flipper which sends your ball down a different ramp and into a "whirlpool" of sorts. That's one of the best uses for an upper playfield with one flipper I've probably ever seen because it serves a purpose and moves the game along unlike other games which ended up adopting that gimmick. It's very clever stuff. The lighting on the table looks great, especially in the dark, but the audio is fuzzy and muffled. Still, I love playing this game. It's very "under the radar".

This is a fun game but it didn't leave that much of an impression. Plenty of shots and comparable to Fish Tales in my opinion, which is another good game that's just a bit better. I wasn't blown away enough to go out of my way to play this, but I'm sure I'll get plenty of additional games on it in due time.

Loved this game, pretty good build quality, fast, fun and unusual. Lighting not great but sufficient. Makes you really want to progress with the rafts. Love the Bigfoot toy, his head turning is so cool. Well designed game. Definitely a top 20 game.

Great playing pin, lots of fun and wonderfully pleasant family theme. Lots of ball action and great ramps. Unique skill shot punishes forceful plunging. Deep code keeps variety high.

I’ve owned this for about 5 months now. I love the theme and it makes a great pair with my Fishtales (probably the two best/classic toppers in pinball).

Not the deepest pin out there and the call outs and music seem a bit dated (probably the pins biggest weakness) but when it comes to flow and just pure fun, it is definitely a top 10-20 pin. Some newer games have deeper code and sometimes more of a modern feel but often just don’t measure up when it comes to the fun factor.

Whitewater is Williams classic and a keeper. There is a reason these are getting tougher to find and prices continue to gradually increase.

WOW, Whit Water goes directly into my favourite spot. with a very few exceptions, I love everything with this machine. And it is so fun to play.

There are so many shorts and ramps and the flow is super fast. the stop and go with the Bigfoot Lock is only a well awaited break from a fun and hectic gameplay. There are may goals to go for; Multiball, Wet Willies, Bigfoot Hotfoot, Boulders and the very hard to get (which is good9 Vacation Planner Jackpot. both ruleset and scoring is wellbalanced. In my humble opinion WH2O has some pinball best; upper playfield (on this machine it is integrated in the gameflow), topper and toy (Bigfoot). Amazed by how the playfield is packed. Only small issue is that a great bit of playfield is hidden.

The game is just beautiful and it means a great bit for me, that the colours are so well balanced. The mountains are just spot on and upper playfield gives a good 3 dimensional feeling. Animations are ok, but not a blast - would have been nice with a videomode (maybe I haven't found it yet ;-).

The sounds, callouts and music are above average, but have been seen better. Sound effects a great though. As many points out it is a great detail that the music gets more intense when you advance raft.

Game lighting is top notch. Use of flashers well thought of and the lighteffect on topper should have made lighting designer employee of the month at Williams.

So a fantastic pinball machine with a great great theme. Fun to play and I guess it stays that way.

I love the theme. This game is fun and unique. I still love it everytime the ball goes up and down that left ramp. Game is tough (which is good for me). Wish it had ball save :)

A really entertaining theme and playfield - combined with great sounds and one of the most spectacular toppers ever.

There is a nice flow to the shots here. The whole play field is really well thought out, even if I find that the falls-ramp and circle loop takes up a little too much territory here. Lighting is spectacular and the playfield really creates a colorful impression which connects very well with the theme of rafting and adventure.
I´d imagine the lastability to be pretty good with this game in a home enviroment, especially when in company with 2-3 other DMD games.

Great game kind of a different, unique layout. Very fast. A fun game. Keep coming back for more. This game really comes to life during multiball. Like the silly theme.

All my reviews are going to follow a simple formula for those reading.
Number of shots to make - Pro's - Con's - Must Have Mods - What To Look For When Buying

Number of shots - 7 - above average

Pro's:
* Shot flow is fantastic in this game, it's all about shot making
* Insanity Falls ramp one of the top 5 in all of pinball
* Bigfoot toy a cool feature
* Pops disguised as boulders
* Wizard mode start is unbelievable

Cons:
* Animations are weak (don't bother with a color dmd)
* A pain to shop out
* Locking balls for multiball quite easy

Must Have Mods: (Note I will not include things like LED's, Color DMD, Invisiglass or Speaker Upgrades unless it's really badly needed)
* Cliffy Protectors for boulders and ramps
* Insanity Falls decals
* Protectors for lock targets
* Bigfoot light mod

What To Look For When Buying
* Broken boulders
* Wear outside the Lost Mine hole
* Broken disaster drop ramp near targets
* Wear at the drop point from the VUK

I have tried this game 7 or 8 times in different venues. I want to enjoy it but I have not. It is a big ball drain. When I read about it I want to play but each time I am disappointed.
