I got tired of this one fast. They did great with the them, but the upper playfield took up way to much space. This had too much instant bounce back.

Edit: if you work on your skills this one gets good.

I enjoyed playing this one, but I don't understand why it's rated as highly as it is.

EDIT:

Now that I've owned this game for a bit, I can give it a better review. If anything, I like it more now than I did before I got it.

Layout: Fantastic. At first glance, it appears to be quite cluttered. In reality, it's a speedy flow-master with just a tad bit of clunk. The upper playfield is really cool, despite only having two possible shots, both of which are effectively 'gimmie' shots. This is the best collection of plastic ramps in pinball. The layout fits the game perfectly.

Rules: Once you grasp what you're supposed to accomplish in this game, the enjoyment you get from flipping the table magnifies. It's got a a few great multi-balls, a couple of wizard modes (one most people - myself more than included- may never get), and some other mini-modes you start by shooting the lit whirlpool shot. Plenty to do rules-wise, and it all makes sense within the context of the theme.

Sounds and music: A lot better than most people realize. As you move down the river, the intensity and complexity of the composition continues. Each mode and multiball has it's own tune, and there are lots of call-outs to add to the adrenalin building excitement. The quality isn't DCS level, of course - but the compositions and choreography they create are a pinball masterpiece.

The lights, big foot gimmick, and molded mountains add to the experience to make this one of, IMO, the best pinball games ever made. If you have only one Nordman pin, this is the one to have.

One of the best pin games ever produced. It's hard to think of ways it could have been made better...

I just love this machine. I wish it had better backglass art, because what it has is kind of hokey. The playfield is better, although I find the rocks/cliffs to be sort of chunky and plasticky and I wish they had come up with something a little sleeker that allowed better visibility at the top of the playfield. That being said, the layout is GREAT, and the upper playfield skill shot is a fantastic touch. I love hearing the ball crack against the glass when you hit it down the left side and it goes over those steep hills. This machine has fantastic layout. I like it when the play is about more than just shooting the ball up the middle over and over. I think this machine would be a bigger hit if the artwork was just a little COOLER looking. I volunteer my skills as an illustrator to make this happen haha!

Another great game to play; accuracy is a huge factor in playing this one well. Dial in the shots, and a Vacation Jackpot of 200M (+ an Interface Screw - note from Tv Tropes) is very possible. Many things to do as well, including a few multiball modes and standard Boulder modes.

If you do attempt for the Vacation Jackpot, "Say yer prayers!"

This was a family favorite for quite some time back in the early 2000s. There is a lot of variety in this game and overall a lot of fun to play. While I sold this machine, it is definitely one that I would buy again.

Great fun game when in good shape. Truly original. Not sure about the lastability, but only time will tell.

Great theme, layout and design, but I find it brutal. The plunge, the kickout, the river letters the lock targets and of course the ball coming out of the pops. This makes it a frustrating and challenging game, but makes me come back for more punishment.

One out of every 5 games or so on wh20 can have me on a roll and nailing the ramp shots and working the multiballs well.Glad to have it in the home collection.

This is another "great" game that has grown on me the more I play it. Definitely not deep when compared to modern Sterns, but there is something about the flow (pun intended) that really works well. Lots of unique shots and the upper flipper is truly an upper flipper. You have one or two chances to make one of the two upper ramp shots, and I like how you need to alter making them to progress through some aspects of the game. Also, the advancing rafts is a unique set of rules as well as what it take to get to the wizard mode. Also, the music is very cool as it varies, a bit, with each raft advancement and seems to rise in intensity as you make it further down the river. This is definitely a game I wouldn't mind owning.

This is a fun game. Kickin' Bigfoot's ass is a blast. Some very good game flow with some great shots. This game may be the current hot title by enthusiasts but, by that measure, it is a little over rated.

Great topper on WW. Like the ramp shots. Bigfoot is really a cool character in this game. Very cool pin next to a Fish Tales.

This is certainly a top tier machine! It has a great theme that never gets old and lots of interesting shots to make. The backglass art is not my favorite, but it does fit the theme perfectly. The ruleset is great but scoring is a bit unbalanced for a few of the modes. My best scores only happen when I get the 5X Playfield bonus going at the right time, but that's probably something that can be attributed to my novice skills. Overall, this is one of the best machines out there and I never pass up an opportunity to play it!

A game that keeps on giving. Fun, fast and great longevity. My wife loves it as the ramps are fun, lots of good shots etc and I love it for the flow, deep rule set and the high difficulty, especially trying to get to bloody Willy's!!

Theme is a little left of centre, I'm not exactly a hardcore rafter, I wouldn't think many pinballers are :-), but it's also a theme which doesn't offend and is integrated extremely well in this circumstance.

Fantastic bang for buck, and a machine I can't see myself getting rid of for many many years.

I wouldn't mind owning one, but not too fussed it is a good game with good ramp shots and fast........ it hold sentimental value as its one of the first pins I played as a kid.

White Water is a slightly odd theme that works pretty well as a pinball machine. The rules and the ramps are really what sets it apart. The lure of the vacation jackpot keeps you coming back.

I find the sounds a bit grating and there is a lot of waiting for ball locks, VUK shots, and of course the long ramp. It is furious action and pauses.

Multiball is really fun, though. It's tough to keep the balls in play and shoot for the jackpot at the same time, since the upper flipper is so far away from the lower ones.

A good old friend that is always fun to play with.

This game is awesome! My father picked one up recently with all leds and the things looks amazing. The ramps are fast and love the way the ball smacks the glass on left ramp coming down. Love the original theme. Great machine. Classic feel and difficult. Makes you work for the upper playfield shots. If it leaves his collection it will go directly to mine.

Love White Water. This is one I will own one day. Awesome ramps and caves. This should be higher rated than what it is. Possibly a top 10 machine. Love BigFoot too. LOL Is there a better topper in ALL of pinball?
