Unique , fun game.I have others that I need first, but if I ever find one close to me in great condition at a good price. I won't hesitate.

Those spinning discs used to frustrate the h*ll out of me! Solid game all the way though.

Think of this pin like an old muscle car and you'll understand why it has the appeal it does. It's simple and powerful, and in a straightforward manner creates the opportunity to have a lot of good ole' fashioned fun! Remember, this game comes from another era folks.

Just because it is simple does not make it easy, and a well tuned game will give you the best chance of hitting those million plus upper ramp shots. Great light show too on this fun game!

It could seem like a "one shot" game, but there is much more available in terms of game play and strategy. I also think you can only complain it's "too easy" if you regularly score over 100 million points :-)

Whirlwind is a fun game that makes good use of the spinning wheels on the play field surface. The wind blowing in your face is neat but I could see it getting annoying after a while (I believe you can turn that off?). I haven't played it enough to give a more detailed review, but it's a good game, nothing amazing.

Whirlwind grabs your attention and has a few interesting shots. Backglass and cabinet are cool enough. Spinning discs are a big part of the playfield and can be interesting (pretty cool back then ... still cool). The ramps are a bit short on the upside but the downramps are cool. Style of play isnt bad but didnt make me want to load the machine up with coins. May not have the replayability id like for a collection. 1990 was the start of bigger and better things. Not a bad fun theme for Williams. The wind in the face is cool. Personally it isn't the most fun pinball and im not such a big fan of it. The theme is creative and less serious than some Williams machines, but id much rather a Bally Dr.Dude. Over-rated at pinside i reckon by a long way, but Williams do have a lot of fans. Any bad review gets marked as 'Bogus' at pinside, so we know what that means.

This is a fun game from 1990. The old digital music style is nostalgia for me. Good fun. The main gimmick is the fan. It's quite cool to hear "uh oh, looks like rain!" as the lightning strikes and the fan begins to blow on you.

One of my favorites of all time. Love the fan topper and spinning discs. The music and multiball moment are moments to behold.

The pin is ok. I played one at the expo and I really didn't get a feel for it like others do. Spinning disc and a fan blowing , rest of the pin was boring to me.

A classic Pat Lawlor table. The fan on the backbox is a neat gimmick and really goes well with the tornado theme, plus it cools you down when you have an intense game going.

I own this pin for a little over 8 months now. It was my first pin ever. And I still reach out for it every time i want to play pinball. Currently it stands between an F14 Tomcat, NBA Fastbreak and a Devil Riders.

I organise game evenings from time to time, and the Whirlwind is a very good pin for newbies. Easy rules, fun with the topper blowing wind in your face, pretty colourful cabinet, and when tuned correctly the amount of ball drains is very doable for beginners. My friends tend to reach out for this pin rather than the NBA, because of the more complicated rules and modes in the NBA.

All in all, a very well balanced and fun game. Perhaps for the more skilled and experienced player it might get boring after a while. But honestly, this pin isn't going anywhere for now. (not only because it's my girlfriends favourite pin, but it helps)

This game, for whatever reason, seems to draw me in every time I see one on location. It's really fun, with a well-chosen theme, and it represents it well.

Wonderful Pat Lawlor design. You really can get into the flow if hitting shots. The three spinning discs in the middle of the playfield add to the challenge, but don't seem annoying like other games with discs. The game can be rough if you brick shots on the left side since they are pretty close to the flippers. I would say this is one of Lawlor's best games.

What can i say that everyone else hasn't? Things spin around and a fan blows on your face, wheeeeee. Love it.....kicks my ass many times, then gives me a great game.
