Hawaii Pinball Quest part II

After finding that horribly neglected Starship Troopers I resolved to find more pins on Oahu. I started thinking of places where pins might be hiding out. I was looking in all the bars I passed with no luck. Then it occurred to me, bowling alleys might have some. I got out the phone book and started dialing all the alleys on Oahu. None of them had any pinball. One girl who answered the phone even had to ask her manager if they had any pinball machines. I could hear from the tone of her voice that she had no idea what a pinball machine was. <sigh> Finally, I decided to call the one on Schofield barracks. "Yes we have a pinball machine. It's a Viper." SCORE! I drove on up to Post do get some Night Driving in. The machine looked to be in good shape but there were issues. The game played fine but one of the blacklights was out, it had a sticky flipper and the machine had a tendency to not realize the ball had drained, causing you to have to tilt the machine to advance to the next ball. After about $10 of frustrated play, I left, disgusted. It didn't take me long to run thru that $10 either. The machine was a drain-o-matic. Also, those plastic or ceramic glo in the dark balls don't act the same as the steel ones. They roll and bounce different making it hard for me to predict and judge the shots. They aren't way different but just enought to thow off your timing. I felt like a beginner again. So here was another neglected pin which was in too bad a shape for me to want to continue playing. Back to trolling the bars.
