I've had this game for about a year now and I find it really enjoyable. Very simple layout and not much to shoot for but somehow very satisfying. Be prepared for a love-hate relationship with the center spinner Target.

A fun EM with a decent ruleset.

The spinner feature is completely avoidable if you just want to hit the ball back up top to the lit advance spinner switch, and I recommend doing that because the spinner mech can send your ball right down the middle easily if it stops in a vertical position, and you happen to hit it dead on.

Extra ball is easy to obtain by completing drops twice. The layout could have benefited for at least one real spinner on the left orbit.

I’m not a really big EM fan, but I do enjoy Triple Action quite a bit and like to play it on location often.

This game kind of opened the door for Williams to do things their own way. It's a fun game and very open basic design. The play can be slow at times hindered by the spinning target. If you got going you could rack up more than one credit and that was likely the best aspect of the game. Out-lanes are a mile wide.

What the hell is going on here? They're shooting a movie, but it's Sinbad or some Sword and Sandals middle eastern themed story? Arabian Nights? And what does that have to do with "Triple Action", the tripartite scoring tiers one must climb for a top score in this game? I have no idea.

Yet this game is so much more fun than the disjointed theme (and typically crazy Christian Marché pointy-person-style artwork) might suggest. (No I don't really like the art at all.) It's a nerve-wracking tournament game, where you have to try to max out the bonus multipliers before wailing away on the nifty spinner-with-posts in the middle of the field (which presents a unique challenge to hit at the right angle to spin a lot but not send the ball on an unhappy trajectory). The only real drawback here is when you max out on a ball --- a common problem with Kordek designs, especially in the 70's -- and there's not a lot to shoot at.

So I *really* enjoy playing this, it is far more addictive and better than the sum of its parts, despite the obvious limitations of aesthetic appeal. I don't think it's a first machine and certainly not an only machine, but for the spinner and accumulating game play, it's a great one to have in a broader lineup.

How can you resist any pin that has a huge spinner as a target in the middle of the playfield. Great color, fun (yet somewhat idiotic) theme, and did I mention the spinner?!

A played this game over and over as a kid, and continue to play it today. The excitement of advancing the multiplier with the spinner and making sure to hit the drop targets to add a ball make it fun to score.

Triple Action is a simple game that offers quite a bit of play when it behaves as it should.

The Pros:
The SPINNER! Mega-wide outlanes mean that the random action of spinners and the pops make every shot into this area a risky one. Your lit drop targets to advance your bonus X are your money makers on this baby. Christian Marche did a bang up job with the entire art pax, cabinet and all.

The Cons:
A dead spinner makes for a dead game... This game can either be too easy or super nasty evil kind of hard depending when this spinner is not operating at peak performance. Finding the balance on this game's setup is key to having good (and consistent) games.

The Takeaway:
A good game if you are willing to give it a level and some love.
