Great Game. The clock is super cool feature and makes the game completely different from any other game of the era. Its a pretty easy game to understand, and easy for new people to grasp, but depending on how you set it up can be a pretty hard game (or pretty easy if you set it up that way). Artwork is great. Mine has a brand new BG resto glass, and the colors are really vibrant and match the brightness of the game. The playfield lighting is pretty good. The chimes are a little rough, even after a rebuild. The fillpers are very strong on this game, maybe even a bit too much power to hit the center "Stop Clock" shot as it bounces out sometime. A really fun game for your game room and probably one of the better 1970s EMs in my opinion.

Travel Time is a gem albeit fairly simple. The playfield and BG artwork are warm and soothing reminiscent of fond summer memories. The theme is Quasi scooby doo / Tiki hut type vibes. Play strategy is different in that you are playing by time instead ball numbers. Limitless balls makes the game very easy for a newcomer or inexperienced guest. It offers players the opportunity to gain time increments to extend play time. It also is interesting in that your need to shift tactics between scoring time increments and points, which will prioritize what part of the table you focus on and oftentimes letting the ball drain on purpose.

Fun fact, this table can be seen in the background in a few episodes of That 70's Show. If you reading this you probably already knew that.

This machine is fairly common in my area, excellent artwork and machine really plays well.

Kinda hard to find a nice one.

I didnt expect much at first, my machine was in great condition but just sat forever. I cleaned it, rebuilt flippers along with changing the caps, tuned all the switches and the machine really came alive .

It used a great color scheme that looks excellent under blacklight. My machine is quick fun and fast and beating the clock or adding time to it is not easy.

You can change the speed of the clock, but if you slow it down too much its almost impossible to lose. Too fast and you will never win.

Finding the right clock speed and the right starting time in the clock is the key to the game.

Reenforce the center island if you find a machine.

Its a quirky battle of beat the clock and pinball but that makes it very fun.

I grew up with this game, so admittedly I'm a bit biased. But managing the clock is a lot of fun, and promotes shot skills. I'm not a fan of the line art, but that's more of a generational thing and certainly many machines of that era had similar style. The color combinations work well. I've always thought the name was a great double entandre. It's very different gameplay than games today, but the conceit of managing the clock is well executed here.

Interesting game, not based on number of balls but time played. You can stop and start the clock with certain shots , add time, etc. Interesting game but it gets old kind of quick, a game its easy to walk away from after a few games

Travel Time is an unusual game with timed gameplay mechanic.

The Pros:
A novel idea that was not implemented this well again until Safecracker. This game requires some interesting strategies as there is no bonus and in the case of this game, heading out on the outlanes is a good thing. Where do you put the ball? How do you maximize your time on the PF between points and hitting targets that give you more time (hint... go for more time!) The Christian Marche art package is spot on all around. Even the cabinet is just right! While Vacation like is the best way to describe this theme. Which is strange in the sense that this game is about tension with the clock. The game's action at the top is tight and fast, at the bottom it is open and due to the flipper layout, requires a bit more nudging than most games of this vintage (esp. from Norm Clark) would require.

The Cons:
The saucer is more of a luck than an aimed shot. This game has got to be set up JUST RIGHT, or either the player will play forever and get bored, or they will get worked very quickly and in a frustrated state, walk away to never play this game again. Nothing is more frustrating than just reaching 0 seconds on the clock AND THEN... getting the stop clock target. This table must be fresh, fast and bouncy to play as it should.

The Takeaway:
Find this game and hope that it has been "dialed" properly. If not, just know that the difficulty settings on this game make all the difference. If this deck is in a personal collection, session it out and see if it's nuances and strategies come to your gameplay. If this game is set up properly and adjusted to your play style... it can make your game room a very exciting place to be. The technology is much older, but like Safecracker, this game (when setup properly) is more than a novelty.
