I prefer GnR, same decade however. The sounds are nice but half compare to GnR

Another great & underrated pin from Data East. Based on the broadway musical, Tommy is a homage to the EM era The Who lovingly referred to in their song, "Pinball Wizard". Very well put together package. The yellow cabinet stands out in a crowd, with an interesting translite, and an awesome silver ball topper. Game has lots of really cool shots, slick dot animations, lots of modes based around the Tommy story, and some very good music (includes vocals). The sound effects are a love letter to the EM days, especially the EM chimes that play when you activate multiball. Speaking of multiball, Tommy's "Listen Mode" multiball has to be seen in person. When the shutters cover the flippers for the first time, your heart will be racing. Absolutely killer gimmick! Not a whole lot of flow, and in typical DE fashion, the ruleset is not that great. Otherwise, one of the best DE's. Pinball fans are ravenous about Tommy, as few rarely want to sell theirs. Rare game to find. Play one if you find one.

This is my favorite pinball. Themed perfectly and with the blinders and reflective topper showing Tommy, this is awesome for design/thought around the play/movie.

An Excellent Retro Style Game with homage paid to style and features of 60`s and 70`s type machines. Tommy may not have all the toys and gadgets of contemporary machines but designers were looking for a Tommy Movie era style of machine. I think the flipper blinders activated during Tommy and Pinball Wizard mode (6 ball multiball) are sensational. Music theme is excellent ( I prefer the Who originals). Overall an great game that is hugely underestimated that is played and enjoyed by my family and friends. I think it is the best pinball machine produced by Data East thats easy to service for maximum playing pleasure.

Amazing game from Data East, fantastic licence and theme. Flipper blinders came as a huge shock the first time I played, these are excellent, what a great feature.

i love the metal ramps, no clear plastics to get scratched! music becomes painful...since I was a young boy i've played the silver ball...... good pinny for a quick game, fun and not too hard, not the best for home use if you only plan on owning one pinny the rule set is not deep enough so you may become bored...

WHY DID YOU DO THIS BASED ON THE MUSICAL...UGHHH!!! That killed this game, and ruined the who's songs.

Some four or five machines were imported to my country. Anyway, I kind of liked it at that time.

How can you go wrong with the "Who"? The blinders are tricky...but fun. This is definitely the best music ever put in a pin!

This machine IS pinball. It has MANY things to do. For its era its one of the most entertaining. Many people complain DE games feel like toys but its just a variation and they're not supposed to be and feel the same. Playing blind? With music from The Who playing along as you battle a 6 ball multiball. If you cant have fun with this machine then you just dont deserve to.
