The flow is good from the lower flippers up to the upper flippers, as the ball rolls back down to the upper flippers. The middle targets are pretty unique (mechanically), and it's fun and satisfying to hit them from the upper flippers . I think the artwork is fine, as it is common for the era. It's not the deepest game, but it's probably better than the reviews here say it is.

This is one of the worst games that Williams has came out with. Especially being in the end years of the EM era. The game is boring and has to much playfield that is not filled with something. The art work on the backglass is typical of the Mexican/Spanish influence that they tried to incorporate in that era (Amigo).

I don't get all the bad reviews on this, it's not a top ten game but it is a fun and challenging game. At first I didn't think there was much to it. The more you play it you see there is more than meets the eye and you keep going back for more. Not amazing art but not bad either.

Possibly the worst Williams title of the 70's. There's almost nothing going on in a vast, empty playfield. To get the big points rolling up, you have to hit standup targets between posts to light A-B C-D or A-B-C-D for an extra ball. Then the orbit shots over rollovers will start to be worth something; until then there's almost no point. But the problem is you really can't hit those standups without getting random post bounces; it's not a matter of a high skill game so much as a no skill game. You're much better off waiting for random glancing hits of the targets on downward arcs of balls coming back to the flippers instead of making the shots.

The straight-across targets can be hit from either lower or upper flippers, the latter with difficulty, but the scoring is nothing compared to the bonus building and the necessity of hitting them in order -- combined with their thin, weird design that make it difficult to hit them in sequence -- make it wholly uninteresting to go for any of them. The upper flippers feel like tiny T-Rex arms; useless and an evolutionary dead end.

There's a sort of Toreador theme going on, and while it's not racist like Amigos it's not even as clear as Toro. Just a bandalero and a woman, maybe doing the Flamenco. And almost no playfield artwork to underscore the theme.

This may be one of the few pins I'd pass on if I were given one, free, in working condition.

A decent game, no more, no less. 4 flippers is all nice but unfortunately there's not much to shoot at. A bank of stand up targets in the middle and a few more at the side, that's it. At least you can get the ball back to the upper of which is better than many games from that era. OK to play on a few times but nothing special.

Toledo is a game that should play better than it does.

The Pros:
The 14 shots on the table between the targets and the lanes have a deceptively large amount of things to do on this EM table. Especially considering how open this design is. Tap passing and Shatzing the inlane for the extra ball is always gratifying. The standups at the top of the game keep the ball moving quickly. This game definitely needs to go Hi-Tap. Hitting the lit standups requires solid aim. The Saucer is a true skill shot ala Harry Williams!

The Cons:
The lower side targets come to you during the game as compared to shooting for these targets. Shooting A&B for double bonus may be needed, but the game usually gives this targets to you from shot ricochets and sling bounces. The upper flippers are worthless towards gameplay. The standups at the top of the PF are all you are ever really shooting for. This is one of the few Marche art packages that I don't like.

The Takeaway:
A game that may be interesting if you tune it, wax it, steepen it and open the outlanes as far as you can. Even then, games like Flip Flop make this deck seem like a bore.

The bottom flippers get you halfway up so you can use the mini upper flippers and score. So boring,

This game is nothing special but the layout and game play is perfect in my collection for the people that come over and just want to relax and play a straight forward game of pinball. It has given us some of our best heads up battles it is a good game that a novice player can step up and score on.

This is a poor, poor game, with abysmal colours and artwork.
