Thank you Steamvette for sharing your pins with me. TKO grew on me tonight. Something gelled on this visit. It plays different. It plays well. I find it to be more of a nudging game.

It is tough to play and that is an attraction, IMO. No bells. No whistles. Just pure, challinging pinball.

I'd like to have one to add an EM to the collection.

I don't think TKO has particularly memorable gameplay, but you'll certainly remember playing one if you get the chance.

GTB's last wedgehead produced in very scarce numbers, the only one I've ever seen, let alone played, is the one Tim Arnold built from parts which resides in the Pinball Hall of Fame in Vegas. TKO is one of the late-model GTB layouts that is weirder than it needs to be, think Strange World or Rock Star, with all the "shoot the ball and hope it gets a lucky bounce to hit some stuff" that would crop up in the early System 1 games. The Gordon Morison art is a sight to behold, and the design is reminiscent of the aforementioned Strange World in its odd-ball-ness. However, it's not particularly fun to shoot.

Play the game if you have the chance, but it's not going to knock your socks off.

T.K.O. was the last wedge head made by Gottlieb.

The Pros:
The cabinet looks great.

The Cons:
Everything else about playing this game is a dud. No drops, no interesting shots. If this game was made in 1967, it still would have bombed. I can't believe this game came out of the mind of Master K!

The Takeaway:
Games are rare for many reasons. This one happens to be rare because it is an ugly remnant and reminder why Gottlieb lost their pinball crown. Don't walk, RUN away from this deck! It's a horrible looking and playing table.
