Beautiful artwork, crazy cool backbox drew me in. Now I have one, and am learning these were not built according to Williams/Bally. Some things better, some not, but a very interesting learning experience.
Would not change a thing. Like mentioned, make sure all pf parts are there. You aren't going to get a plastic set at Marcos..

Zaccaria is definitely not a manufacturer to overlook. The art is leagues above any manufacturer; even by today’s standards. Time Machine is no exception; this game is beautiful to look at: Hand drawn playfield art, silk screened cabinet, printed thermoformed 3D art behind the backglass…Holy Crap! The game play on this is simple to understand: with the pop bumpers up; you’re in the future and hit the stand-up targets to advance. With the pop bumpers down; you’re in the past and hit the stand-up number targets to advance. O yeah…The F*ing pop bumpers move up and down!! This creates 2 playfields of sorts and it an awesome effect I’ve never seen in another game. The orbit ramp advances the multiplier and can be combo shot, if your flippers are aligned just right. Then, there are the orange green and red specials: These targets will get lit when you progress through the game; hit to cash in on some big points. Overall, the game play is simple but satisfying. O yeah, and the sounds are very unique, amongst its Bally-Williams-Stern-Gottlieb domestic friends, it stands out.
The down side to Zaccaria in general is the rarity. Many of the parts on these games are unobtainium; especially things with art. If you have the opportunity to buy one of these, make sure it has all of its parts.

Played this at league last night and was very impressed! The pop bumper playfield that raises and lowers is super cool, tranporting you through time. Good target shooting game and awesome atrwork to support a cool theme. The double flippers adds variety too.

This is from 1983? Doesn't play like it, seems that this could have been released 10 years later...I guess that's why it is called time machine! Really cool playfield gimmic. Art package is unreal, bright vibrant colors, love it...the old guy is a little too much...could do without the hairy nostrils. The game was fun for three plays, but I think I'd get bored with it over time. If you ever see one take some time to take in the artwork, really top notch.

Time Machine is one of the finest pieces of pinball art ever created. And, it's a solid player to boot.

The Pros:
Look at it... I mean... just look at it. This game is bright, visually articulate and let's not forget IN 3 DIMENSIONS! The BG with the neon lights in it just looks like nothing else you have ever seen in a pinball game. Can't forget the infinity 2 way mirror in the middle of the BG either. Best candidate for pinball awesome overload art package, ever! The rising/falling pop bumpers on the disappearing pf give this game a serious "WOW" factor, especially when witnessed for the first time. I love the right ramp shot that goes all the way around the entire PF and then feeds the left hand side flippers again. IT's the perfect frame for the circular area of the disappearing PF mechanism.

The Cons:
Finding one, that works. I'm not a fan of the second set of "sissy" flippers. If you don't have the skill to work the ball between the 2 sets of flippers, you need to refine your pin-fu.

The Takeaway:
When you are luck enough to be in the presence of this game. You need to play it, and then play it again, and again, and again. Preferably with friends. That is all.

One of my favorite games. The rising/lowering playfield was an amazing feature for the time. As with all Zaccarias of the time, the artwork is top notch and very colorful. Sound is good also.
