A pretty good game overall, I am not a fan of the theme personally, music and sound do get repetitive.far better off with a twilight Zone imho

Great theme and a very beautiful pin.
Extremely boring, callouts are annoying. I had no fun at all playing this game.
I was happy when this pin left my gameroom, and it left pretty fast.

This is the opus of the pinball machine. I can play it over and over and it never fails to amuse me. We decided this would be a signature piece and we went all out on our restoration. We added brass coin door, rails, legs hinges and anywhere else it would fit. I love magic so all the "magic" mods were so much fun. The wands and rabbits just make it so festive. This IS my favorite pinball.

Nice theme with exciting fast flowing game play. The ramps, use of magnets, vanishing balls, and not to forget the main feature of the game, the trunk, all come together to keep all levels of players entertained and wondering what other tricks TOM has up its sleeve. Worthy of a top ten rating in my opinion.

Edit: After owing for 8 months I am downgrading my ratings on fun, theme and last ability. Least played game by myself family and guests. Not enough reward to play the modes as you can score lots of points in other repetitive ways. Theme has gotten annoying, shots are just are not as fun anymore and multi balls suck.

I would say I'm a casual plus player. I enjoy playing pinball because I have fond memories of playing pinball at my local pizza joint when I was growing up. When I see a pin, I usually throw a couple of bucks in but I'm not an addict (at least that's what i tell myself).

Theatre of Magic is one of those games that feels like riding your favorite bike around the neighborhood. Easy to get on, easy to ride and easy for you to enjoy. Love the theme and game play. My downside is that when you play this pin in public, it's usually in horrible shape which leads to a poor experience. I honestly haven't encountered a good pin in public and get my fix on Pinball Arcade.

This game is a keeper in my collection

Oh the first time the magic box spins around and the ball flies up and sticks to it before it spins back around, is there any better "moment" in pinball? It just grabs and impresses everyone.

This is one of the greats for sure. This has the BEST bash toy in the history of pinball. Great ramps, trapdoor is cool, and the small orbit is great. I find the call-outs become redundant pretty quick, and the game is pretty circular in nature, rules-wise. This is one of the easiest pins I've every played, so lastability is pretty low. Overall, it's a well-themed pin with great shots, but it's just too simple.

I don't get it, and maybe that is the problem but this machine bores me to death. So much potential but it seems to flounder when played fast and hard.

Great playing it,is just wanna keep playing it to get to the better magic tricks! It's a must for the collection for anyone

TOM bores me. It always has since I first played it. The game just never clicked for me. I've found a ton of 90s games I love. This just isn't one of them.

Update: I really dislike that my rating for TOM comes out so low. I realize it’s popular. I just don’t enjoy playing it.

I had this machine in my collection for a few year's and after a while I realized that it was off more often than on as compared to my other machines. Upfront Theatre of Magic seems like a very attractive fun game but for me I became bored very quickly.

Good pin with nice playfield and toys. Callouts are repetitive though.

Beautiful machine, but after the initial great impression it gets old quick. I thought I would have love it before playing it, but finally quite disappointing.

There is a good reason why this machine is rated so highly, it is pretty much the perfect pinball machine. No matter your skill level, ToM caters for all. This is a timeless classic

In my opinion this is a great game with great flow meaning that you have an opportunity to really get the ball moving as opposed to hitting consecutive start/stop shots. The game's dependence on the magic trunk gets old and the call out for "shoot the magic trunk" makes you want to answer the game. In other words, when in doubt, hit the trunk. That said, the game is a favorite and it is one that makes people who don't normally play pinball what to play pinball. It's kid friendly and generally the callouts are positive and uplifting - e.g. "You can do it" and "You have the magic". These get repeated a little too often but they Make the game more fun and I don't mind being complimented especially when I'm having a crappy day/game. Lack of a meaningful skill shot is a downer as well.

This is a real solid pinball machine. The artwork is grandiose, and the music is lush. The game is pretty linear, and easy to understand. The wizard mode, however, is disappointing. I really enjoy the flow of this game, but the variety of the shots needed to complete various tasks seems to get repetitive.

In a way, I wish the designers implemented more "tricks" into the design of the playfield. Vanish is neat, so is the mirror behind the bonus rollovers, and the magnasave over the inlanes catches you by surprise. Other than that, though, and the rest of the "magic" falls flat. By comparison, Capcom's "Pinball Magic" has a lot more interesting things on the playfield: a levitating ball, magic wand, magic trunk, and one of the coolest skill shots around.

This game excels in artwork, sound and music. The gameplay is somewhat lackluster.

One of my favorite pins of all time. Awesome multiball!

Love the theme, great looking machine and fun to play. Not really a players game as the shots are not complex. The ball launch is a waste with no skill shot just a drop into the PF.

Like a JP games they look awesome some of the best looking but playability is fun but like I said not really a players game like Shadow, AFM or MM.

Worth having in the collection if you have room or a large collection. Otherwise space would be better filled.

A visually stunning machine. A good combination of battling the trunk and flow with many interesting ramps
