Killing zombies never gets old. Now this is a theme. Some nice mods available to a already loaded prem pin. Modders paradise. Deep rules, quite difficult for beginners but good for a home pin. One of Sterns best and really well made. Still a newbie with the rules but learning all the time.

One of sterns best games ever! The theme of Twd (not fan of the tv series) suck big time but the game is a masterpiece! Change the sound and music to one of the custom options and you are fine! Just love coming back for more and more.

This game is so much fun!

I played this machine for about a half hour in Gatlinburg this summer. A half hour only because it was the only pinball in the arcade, else Id've only played it once. The constant 2-ball multiball is probably ok for the truly walking dead, though maybe you become the walking dead if you play this long enough.

As a fan of the show I played the pro model in the showroom. I wasn't too into it since I was really there to look at and buy Star Trek pro. A month went by and I sold a car I had and had some extra money for one more pin. I didn't feel like driving hours to the showroom. I watched countless videos on YouTube on TWD pinball. I basically just said screw it and bought a premium, I absolutely love this game. This is a new occurrence for me, usually the showroom is where I decide. This game grows on you quick, yes it's tough, but I can't stop coming back for more.

super fun pin! great playfield and shot layout and variation. the bash toy is cool with the magnet. i love the easy mode start and multiball. this is one of the funner stern pins. nice and fast, and easy to comprehend the modes and shots available for scoring.

love the placement of ramps and bash toy, love the placement of the bumpers. its super fun to shoot the channel shots on this game if you are precise in your shooting. not for novice players.

No doubt one of the worst pinball machines ever produced, horrible design, box and translate bad, bad music and game I think is unsatisfactory

This game has it all for me. Its tough, fast, beautiful. Its truly a top 10 game and honestly Sterns second best in my opinion (only to LOTR). I own an LE I play it all the time and it has some tough competition in my basement. when I first played this game I didn't get it at all and even avoided it for a while. Once I learned the rules and played more it was the only newer stern that is a must have in my home. Added all sorts of things to my game official topper custom sound mix subwoofer pinbladez and invisiglass. Its awesome!

Played many games. This is by far the best today the le version

I had an opportunity to play this at TILT in Minneapolis. I've never seen the show, so I'm not necessarily drawn to the theme, but wow, was this a fun game. There's a lot more to learn with the rule set, but I had a lot of fun killing off zombies and knocking around a few of the toys it has in it. If I was a Walking Dead fan (and didn't have young ones in the home), this would definitely be on my wish list.

Fun loops and ramps, good flow. Two toys (shed and monster) which are a lot of fun to bash. The zombie silhouettes in the shed are probably my favorite part.

I never watched the show (don't get that cable channel) so the theme and back story I don't follow in the game. However, they probably did a great job with theming. The artwork fits the theme. It seems like you just keep hitting the same targets/toys over and over again to get anywhere in the game. That is just it - most games are that way, but this one gets monotonous with that. I would play a few games on location every time, but I would not want to own it. The LE plays better than the pro because there is a little more action and a couple more things to shoot for - it does make a big difference for me.

The Walking Dead is absolutely perfect in every way! The only thing missing is the voice acting callouts from the show, but even the stock isn't terrible. The callouts can be replaced if desired so this is a mute point. The shots on the game are beyond satisfying! It represents a difficult challenge every time you step up to play it! One wrong move, one missed shot or misplayed ball could be your doom! It has a unique layout offering easy and challenging shots. Earning multi-kills is always exciting and never mind when you get to Horde mode which is one of the best in the business! I've owned this game for nearly 3 months now and I still play it almost every day! Even my wife has become addicted to playing TWD! The theme is one of the best out there and the feeling of killing zombies just never gets old. I do think the artwork on the backglass and cabinet for the premium could've been more creative but it's still good overall. As far as the coding for the game is concerned, Lyman absolutely knocked this one out of the park! TWD will go down as one of the greatest pins of its generation and will be recognized as one of the best ever!

Picked up a loaded premium with Cleland sounds and this game is awesome. I never was a big fan just playing it from time to time at shows but this one is great in a home environment. Tons of shots and with the last code polish it is fantastic.

Update: I really miss this one. I will try to add one back soon

love the game but some callouts from the original actors would be great . led is lacking after playing aerosmith . balls sometimes lost due to magnets

Game Design:
Layout: The layout is one of the major assets of this game. It’s nothing special, but it makes the most of it. Playing the game is like a constant fight for survival. The layout is the best integration of theme into a layout. 5/6
Rules: The rules are freaking amazing! The secret to this is the breadth. You can play modes. You can play for Horde. You can play for Last Man Standing. You can play for points. It’s the Swiss Army Knife of Rule sets. I especially like using the drops to qualify modes. 6/6
Toys: It’s not bad for a Stern. Two bash toys. A magnet. The crossbow. 6/6
Game Play: It plays really mean. Once again the perfect theme integration into a layout ever. 6/6

Playfield: Let’s face it. The game is ugly. Good thing everything makes up for it. 4/6
Backglass: The Premium backglass is not appealing, but it’s the best of the three. An alternate translight would make a world of difference. 4/6
Cabinet: The premium has the best cabinet of the three, but that’s not saying too much. 6/6
Animations: The animations are really pretty great. I love watching the zombies get destroyed. 6/6

Sounds and Music
Sounds and Speech: The callouts are the Achilles Heel of the game. I wish they could have gone with something more aligned with the theme. I really should swap the stock ones out for Clelands. 4/6
Music: The music makes up for the callouts. It sets up the intensity and perfectly aligns with the three and layout. 6/6
Quality: Sound quality is great. 6/6
Variation: There’s definitely enough variation. 6/6

Other Aspects:
Game Lighting: The lights standout in the premium. The red GI makes a ton of difference. The pinnacle is the light show during Horde. 6/6
Lastabilty: Easily one of my favorite games. I could play this forever. 6/6
Theming: This is a tough one. The typical things that make a theme aren’t what contributes to the theme integration on this one. The theme here is all about the layout and music. 6/6
Fun: This is a fun game! It does an amazing job at inducing anxiety throughout the entire game. Every shot means something. It always feels like a challenge. 6/6

Amazing pin! Difficult in a good way. Amazing code. Huge variety of shots. Very different from other pins

What a fantastic game in both layout (super creative) and code (super clever).

The game is in your face from the beginning, just like fighting off zombies. Great shots and modes and NOTHING feels repetitive. Choose your bombs, start a mode, bring in a multiball. Add the crossbow and bicycle girl and it's just an amazing game.

No regrets!

My Favorite Stern, Metallica is #2. Switching out for Sound Rom makes the game even better!

A great code update saved this game from being one of the biggest dogs in recent years. unfair bounces out of the pops and magnets throwing the ball down the middle are very frustrating.

I've been playing the PRO version of this game on location near my house for more than a year, and really enjoyed it. The opportunity arose to possibly purchase this PRO machine near my house, but it didn't work out. After this, I decided to get a NIB PREMIUM, and couldn't be happier.

What I love most about this game is the deep rule set and probably the most satisfying shots in pinball IMHO. The feeling of building up your shot multipliers and landing a shot worth 100 mil+ is awesome. I equate this with METALLICA and its CIU mode!

Probably my favorite part of the Premium is the light show combined with a ColorDMD. After playing a PRO regularly with red and white lights only, I thought the stock red display was cool for its "blood look". But for a Premium, a ColorDMD is a no-brainer! The crossbow is also a fun feature to change things up compared to the PRO, and utilizing walker bombs to start a multiball when your ball drains never gets old.

Don't get me wrong, this game can be frustrating, but when things are clicking it sure makes up for the turd games.

The two mods I must recommend are swapping out the 4.25" post for the left ramp/right side to a 4.125" post to even out the transition between the main ramp and the up/down Bicycle Girl section. The second, add a plastic tube to the backbox fluorescent lamp, and add 3 layers of 1" green Frogtape to diffuse the too bright "AMC The Walking Dead" glare on the playfield glass.

Lastly, I would recommend the Premium over the Pro, but I'm surprised there's such a large gap between the two on the top 100. Both are solid Pins.

Cool theme, game layout, like the playfield toys,
Drain monster but after fine tuning it's awesome !
